Green Bay Packers Vs. San Francisco 49ers NFL Playoffs Betting Picks And Odds

NFC Championship Packers Vs 49ers Game Picks & Betting Odds

If Aaron Rodgers wants to reach his second Super Bowl, he needs to beat his childhood team, the San Francisco 49ers, at the NFC Championship game.

San Francisco already destroyed Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers during the regular season, which makes the task a lot harder.

Let’s dive in.

The Green Bay Packers’ Edge vs. the Niners

The Packers played perhaps their best game of the season last weekend against Seattle, in particular during the first half.

The team didn’t do anything extraordinary, but they did a lot of things well. QB Aaron Rodgers was superb throwing 243 yards and two scores. He was magnificent in third-down plays, converting three of them in crunch time.

Rogers & Adams

Rodgers’ chemistry with WR Davante Adams is getting to another level. Adams caught eight balls for 160 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle. His routes were perfect, leaving Rodgers a lot of space to throw the football.

The offense also used RB Aaron Jones the right way. Jones is not an every-down back, but he’s lethal in the red zone. Including his two touchdowns against the Seahawks, he now has 18 rushing TDs, which is the best number in the NFL.

Let’s talk defense

The Packers defense was able to stop the run most of the game. They got in trouble when QB Russell Wilson decided to scramble. Lucky for them, Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo is not that type of player.

Another thing that might favor the Packers is they already faced San Francisco this season. They were destroyed by the Niners’ front seven on a Sunday Night matchup. I would be surprised if the Packers play such a lousy game again.

The San Francisco 49ers’ Edge vs. the Packers

The 49ers were the favorite team in the divisional round with the fewest problems to advance. They took care of business by beating the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 without any issues.

San Francisco went back to basics, dominated with their powerful front seven, and held the Vikings to 147 total yards. Minnesota recorded only seven first downs, and RB Dalvin Cook ran for 18 yards in nine carries.

The 49ers have five first-round players inside the defensive line. Their domination over Minnesota or any other team shouldn’t be a surprise.

When they beat the Packers in week 12, they sacked QB Aaron Rodgers five times, forced a fumble and held the entire Green Bay offense to 1-15 in third-down conversions.

How will they play?

I don’t think they will be able to put such a flawless performance this time, but they should dominate the matchup against the Packers offensive line. Green Bay should get back tackle Bryan Bulaga to face San Francisco. He was in and out of the game against Seattle due to illness.

The Niners offense is another significant factor in their favor. San Francisco recorded 186 rushing yards in the win against Minnesota last weekend. Over the past seven games, they have averaged 143.0 rushing yards per game.

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers NFC Championship Game Prediction

Let me put this way.

The Niners have the better offense, defense, and coach. The one position where the Packers are better is the QB position. However, they are so far behind in all the other categories that Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have much of an edge over Jimmy Garoppolo.

The NFC championship game won’t be a replica of their week 12 meeting where San Francisco won by 29 points. It should be closer than that, but not close enough that will allow me to take the points.

To feel confident about a Green Bay play on the road, I would need a double-digit spread.

San Francisco is the best team from any angle that you want to see it. Unlike Green Bay, they were actually tested in the regular season. The Packers are a 13-3 team that their best wins came against Minnesota twice.

Sure, their victory against Seattle is also good, but injuries diminished the Seahawks. An even playing at home, the Packers were close to coughing a 21-3 lead against the Seahawks.

Make a strong play on San Francisco here. They are so much better than Green Bay.
