Hawaii Bowl: BYU Vs. Hawaii Betting Line & Pick
Hawaii Bowl 2019 Betting Preview
The BYU Cougars get to head to Hawaii on Christmas Eve and take on the home-standing Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the Hawaii Bowl.
Hawaii and BYU seem to be pretty evenly matched, and that’s what Vegas thinks as the Cougars are a very small favorite, despite being on the road. Brigham Young is listed at -1.5, with a total at 64 for the game on Christmas Eve.

Cougars Hope to Enjoy More Than The Sun
BYU players are tickled to be heading to Hawaii to play Christmas Eve, but, as Kalani Sitake and his staff have pointed out, they are looking to grab a win in this game and finish the season strong.
The Cougars are 7-5 on the season but are coming off a loss on the road at San Diego State, which snapped a five-game winning streak.
The Cougars are battle-tested with losses to Utah, Washington, Toledo, South Florida and San Diego State, while wins over Tennessee, USC and Boise State improve their resume.
BYU is known for its defense, as it allowed just 24 points per game on the season.
When the offense gets rolling, it is through the passing game. Zach Wilson is the quarterback of the team, after missing portions of the season with numerous injuries, and he has 2,018 yards and 11 touchdowns through the air this season.
Hawaii Playing 15th Game Of 2019
Oddly, the Rainbow Warriors are going to play the same amount of games as the two teams in the national title game. Hawaii has played 14 games already, including the Mountain West Conference Championship Game.
In that contest, they fell 31-10 to Boise State. It was their second loss to the Broncos and fifth of the season. Despite that, a win in this game would put them at 10 victories to finish the season.
Before the loss to Boise State, the Rainbow Warriors had won four straight games. In those four games, Hawaii outscored opponents 129-89.
Cole McDonald has been an absolute stud under center for Hawaii with nearly 3,700 passing yards and 29 touchdowns. Cedric Boyd has gone over 1,000 receiving yards and needs just five receptions for 100 to go along with his 10 touchdowns.
Our BYU Vs. Hawaii Betting Prediction
The Rainbow Warriors get to stay home for Christmas, while BYU will make do the traveling and have the distractions.
Hawaii is 7-7 against the spread, while BYU comes into this one with a 5-8 ATS record. BYU has gone 3-3 on the road, while Hawaii sits with a 6-2 home record.
The trends are pointing at the over hitting in this game, and Hawaii has struggled in bowl games against the spread. In saying that, look for this year’s version of the Rainbow Warriors to buck the trend.
We like the passing game of Hawaii far too much. Look for the Rainbow Warriors to throw the ball early and often and win this game as the slight underdog.
Bet on Hawaii +1.5 in this year’s Sofi Hawaii Bowl.
