The USC Trojans’ form to face Iowa

The season was not what USC fans were expecting, but they had some good highlights, like beating Utah and Stanford.

The Trojans 8-4 was short of the expectations, but maybe, just maybe the season expectations were not real. The program hasn’t been able to land great recruits over the past ten years, and that doesn’t allow them to compete against top teams.

Key Players

Freshman QB Kedon Slovis overachieved this season by throwing 3242 yards, 28 touchdowns and nine interceptions coming on the field as a backup.

What Slovis has on his favor is that he doesn’t care. He slings it anyway.

Having Senior WR Michael Pittman Jr helps a lot. Pittman recorded the third-most receptions this season with 95. He also added 1222 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Michael Pittman already said he plans to play in the Holiday Bowl, despite the NFL Draft is waiting for him.

The Iowa Hawkeyes’ Form to face USC

Iowa didn’t get to play in the Big Ten Championship game, but that doesn’t erase the great year they had.

The Hawkeyes posted a 9-3 record, only losing to Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin. All three teams were ranked programs.

Since losing to the Badgers in a close one, Iowa has won three in a row, including an upset victory over Minnesota.

Very Strong Defense

The Hawkeyes don’t play high scoring games, in fact, they do all the opposite.

Iowa has the fifth-best scoring defense in College. They allowed 13.2 points per game this year, only behind Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, and San Diego State.

USC Trojans Vs. Iowa Hawkeyes Holiday Bowl Prediction

USC was a pleasant surprise with Kedon Slovis under center, but Iowa presents a difficult matchup for the freshman.

The Hawkeyes are one of those teams that won’t give an inch. You need to earn it.

USC is also a passing driven team, and that’s never a good thing against Iowa. They have a lot of playmakers on defense, that would love to finish the season with a W. Bet Iowa -2.
