Houston Astros Vs. Washington Nationals – Game 7 World Series Betting Preview And Pick
Astros Vs. Nationals – World Series Game 7 Betting Odds
After the Nationals exploded for seven runs in Game 6, the 2019 MLB World Series is now tied 3-3. This is thanks to Nationals third basemen, Anthony Rendon.
The Fall Classic will now go to a Game 7 as the Houston Astros host the Washington Nationals in a winner-take-all game for the World Series.
MLB World Series Game 6 Recap
Steven Strasburg pitched a gem, throwing 8.1 innings and surrendering just two runs against a tough Houston offense. Rendon totaled four RBIs in the game, including Washington’s final four runs of the game.
Juan Soto also continued his hot streak in the postseason, going deep off Verlander to break what was a 2-2 in the fifth inning. Verlander left in the fifth inning for Brad Peacock, and the Nationals continued to build their lead off the bat of Rendon after that. Ultimately, they won the game 7-2.
Washington was a decent underdog in this game and could be had for +150 on the moneyline leading up to the first pitch.

The Astros are once again favored in Game 7 but by a slimmer margin. You will find them around -130 to -135 at most betting sites. The Nationals are +115 to +125.
The total has been set at 7.5 runs. Some sportsbooks have juice on the under as of this writing.
The Pitching Matchup – Max Scherzer vs. Zach Greinke
Washington ace, Max Scherzer, was scratched from Game 5 with a neck injury.
Nationals’ Max Scherzer
He is expected to take the mound for Washington in Game 7. He has been influential in this series and the postseason.
In Game 1, he left after giving up two runs in five innings. The Nationals won that game 5-4. He posted a 2.92 ERA in the regular season and has a 2.16 ERA in the playoffs.
Astros’ Zach Greinke
Astros’ starter, Zach Greinke, has been quite a bit shakier. Greinke pitched great in the regular season with a 2.93 ERA but has a 5.30 ERA in the postseason. He did pitch well in Game 3, giving up just one run, but he lasted 4.2 innings.
Houston Vs. Washington Prediction – Who Will Win Game 7?
We all know that Houston’s offense is elite, but the Nationals have been hitting the ball well all series. They certainly don’t have any fear or goosebumps coming into this game — their hitting, pitching, and fundamentals, such as defense and baserunning have all been fantastic.
Still, we do know that Scherzer was severely injured enough that he could not make a start in Game 5. So, even though he threw on Tuesday, there is a little bit of risk there.
Houston Has Its Risks
There is plenty of risk on the Houston side, as well. Let’s not forget that Greinke has not pitched five innings once this postseason. Gerrit Cole, who will be available, has never pitched on short rest in his major league career. Their bullpen has also not been good, as we saw last night.
I have faith that Scherzer will be himself in this one. With that premise, I think it’s an easy move to take the plus money. Washington was a substantial underdog before this series began, but all that matters now is tonight’s game.
I think they win Game 7 and the 2019 World Series.
MLB World Series Pick: Washington Nationals +115
