Texans At Chiefs – NFL Week 6 Betting Odds and Prediction
Two of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL are set to clash in week 6. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs host Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans in one of the most exciting games of the weekend.

What The NFL Odds Say About The Texans vs. Chiefs Week 6 Matchup
The betting line opened with the Chiefs -6.5, but their home loss to Indianapolis last week left a sour taste for the oddsmakers. The line quickly went down to -4.5, and MyBookie.ag currently has it at -4.
The betting public is split on this game, with 53% taking Kansas City to cover the spread at home. Some sportsbooks had the line as high as -5 just hours ago, but those odds are gone now. You will be lucky to find the Texans +4.5 in any market.
Houston Texans’ Edge Against The Chiefs
After what Deshaun Watson did last week against Atlanta, the Texans’ fans had nothing to envy about the Chiefs. They have a baller at the quarterback position.
Watson recorded one of the best stat lines we have seen in recent years. He threw 426 yards, five touchdowns and a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in the 53-32 win over the Falcons. The crazy part is he had as many touchdowns as incomplete passes.
Playing Against A Weak Defense
Houston will be able to mix it up against Kansas City. The Chiefs defense remains the weakest link on this team. They have the third-worst rushing defense in the NFL, and it was exposed by the Colts last week in primetime.
The defensive unit will miss one of its best playmakers on Sunday. DT Chris Jones considered the best defensive linemen on the team, is listed as doubtful due to a groin injury.
Offense Relying On Chiefs Bad Defense
Houston’s offense is not recognized amongst the best in the NFL because their offensive line is a problem. However, because the Chiefs’ defense is one of the worst in the league, the matchup favors the Texans.
With Deshaun Watson under center, whatever Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs offense do on Sunday, the Texans can do just as well.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Edge Against The Texans
Kansas City’s 19-13 home loss to Indianapolis was humbling. Many times, teams need a defeat like that to come back down to earth.
The Chiefs remain very hard to beat at home, so let’s not forget about that. Even if the Colts were able to go into Arrowhead and steal a win, it doesn’t mean any team in the NFL can replicate that success.
Hill Returns To O-Line
The offense is likely to get WR Tyreek Hill back for this contest. Hill brings much-needed speed and separation for this unit. His return to action will give Mahomes a different kind of weapon that will stretch the Texans’ defense.
Will Be Hard To Defend Against Texans Offense
It also means Houston will have to pick their poison. Indy double-teamed TE Travis Kelce a lot last week. The Colts didn’t have to cover anybody else. With Hill on the picture, the entire offense changes.
Mahomes has thrown just one touchdown in the last two games facing Indianapolis and Detroit. I will be shocked if that trend continues.
The most unstoppable quarterback in the NFL won’t be held to a mediocre performance for a third week in a row.
Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs Week 6 Prediction
Many are expecting a lot of fireworks in this game. After all, we have two of the best QBs in the NFL matching up against inferior defenses. One should force the other to keep the scoring pace.
I can see both teams getting 30+ points, which means the Over is a good bet in this game. Waston and Mahomes are just slingers. Neither hesitates to go deep nor score quickly.
An Attractive Point Spread
Yet, when looking at the spread, the four points given to Houston are just too attractive to decline. The Texans went to New Orleans and almost stole a win against the Saints in week one.
Their other road game was a statement win over the Chargers in Los Angeles.
The game against Kansas City will be a close one just for the fact that both QBs have the talent to answer whatever the other does. Bet Texans +4.
