The Indianapolis Colts’ Edge vs. The Texans
The Colts should have had a solid lead in the AFC South, but QB Jacoby Brissett suffered an ankle injury three weeks ago. The team ended losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins.
Indianapolis should have won both games but having Brian Hoyer under center prevented it. As soon as Brissett came back to the starting lineup, the team put 33 points on the Jaguars last week and won by a 20-point margin.
The Colts will miss RB Marlon Mack, who is out this week with a fractured hand. Jonathan Williams should be the go-to-guy out of the backfield. Williams recorded 116 rushing yards in 13 carries against Jacksonville last week.
WR TY Hilton will be a game-time decision for Indianapolis. Hilton suffered an ankle injury a month ago, and despite not being close to 100%, the wideout is making efforts to be ready for Thursday Night.
The Houston Texans’ Edge vs. The Colts
The Texans have a few days to pick up the pieces and go back to their winning ways. Their 41-7 loss suffered in Baltimore was a wake-up call for Houston. Too many things went wrong in that game.
The good news for the Texans is the one game they need to win is this one against the Colts. It will hardly matter getting destroyed by the Ravens if they can win the divisional matchup against Indianapolis.
Deshaun Watson’s MVP campaign came to an end last week. He threw only 169 yards but also one interception against Baltimore. I will be shocked if Watson plays as lousy as he did against the Ravens for a second straight game.
Houston listed WR Will Fuller as a game-time decision for Thursday Night. Fuller hasn’t played since Week 7 due to a hamstring injury.
Indianapolis Colts At Houston Texans Week 12 Prediction
Past results don’t usually come into play, but the Colts have won the last two times they visited Houston. They are certainly not afraid of Deshaun Watson and the Texans.
Houston has problems protecting their QB. The Texans have allowed 32 sacks this season, which is 10th worst in the NFL. Also, they have allowed 62 hits on Watson, which is also 10th worst in the NFL.
The Texans Defense
When these two teams met back in Week 7, Watson was sacked three times and turned the ball over twice. Instead, Jacoby Brissett dominated the Texans defense by throwing 326 yards and four touchdowns.
No two games are the same, but nothing shown by the Texans in the last few weeks assure me they are the best team in this division. I even trust Colts’ HC Frank Reich a lot more than I do the Texans’, HC Bill O’Brien.
This is a must-win for both franchises, but Indianapolis looks like the most complete team out of the two. Plus, I’m getting points. Bet Colts +4.
