Khabib vs. McGregor – Who Will Win?
The odds moving slightly towards McGregor in this one don’t give me more confidence that he will win this fight. The public is betting on him heavily, and the line hasn’t shifted too much. Conor has lost fights before. Khabib has not. He’s also given up in several fights and at times, lacks the endurance to compete towards the end. Notorious is undoubtedly faster, but I am not sure that he will be able to hurt Khabib enough to knock him out. I know that sounds crazy, but the Eagle is a monster, and he’s never lost a single fight. McGregor may just not have the strength to take down Khabib, period.
There is a lot of talk about his left hand, but Khabib has a significant advantage on the ground – an area where McGregor has struggled in the past against other fighters. He’s going to have to use his quickness to beat Khabib, but I don’t even think that is enough. Many other fighters have said that Khabib feels like a heavyweight once he gets in close and gets ahold of you. I think McGregor is in over his head in this one. He’s not only physically stronger but mentally tough enough to fight off Conor’s mind games.
Even at -170, you could argue that Khabib is a bargain!!!
