LA Rams vs. Cleveland Browns NFL Week 3 Betting Picks And Odds

Rams vs. Browns NFL betting predictions and odds

After a comfortable win against the NY Jets last week, the Cleveland Browns are set to host one of the best teams in the NFL, the Los Angeles Rams, on Sunday Night Football.

The matchup between the Rams and Browns put together two of the most talented rosters in the entire NFL.

LA Rams vs. Cleveland Browns Betting Preview

Los Angeles is 2-0 with two wins over NFC South teams. Last week it supposed to be a rematch of last year’s NFC title game, but the hype didn’t last long after the Saints QB Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury.

The Rams ended up facing backup QB Teddy Bridgewater and dominated him completely. Their defense held Bridgewater to 165 passing yards and the entire running game to just 57 rushing yards.

Aaron Donald And His Back Injury

Defensive tackle stud Aaron Donald has been limited in practice all week because of a back injury. Nothing suggests Donald will miss the game on Sunday Night.

The Rams offense is averaging 28.5 points per game. It hasn’t been a one-person effort like in years’ past with RB Todd Gurley.

Instead, it has been a team sustained work with several players playing critical roles.

WR Cooper Kupp is one of those key elements. Kupp had five receptions for 120 yards against the Saints last week, and it showed how much the Rams missed him in the second part of the 2018 season.

What The Browns Bring To The Game

The game against the Rams will be the second the Browns play at home this season. The first outing in front of the home crowd was an embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans by 30 points during week one.

Last week they took advantage of an injured NY Jets team. New York was missing QB Sam Darnold as well as defensive playmaker DT Quinnen Williams and LB CJ Mosley.

WR Odell Beckham Jr. showed why he remains a highlights machine. OBJ caught six balls for 161 yards, including an 89-yard TD.

QB Protection

The one thing the Browns need to fix fast is their QB protection. Baker Mayfield has been sacked seven times in two games.

To make it worse, the Rams’ front seven coming to town is one of the best in the business. It looks like a colossal mismatch.

Their running game needs to step up as well. Cleveland is averaging only 86.0 yards per game as a team during the first two weeks of the season.

Their offensive line can’t protect Mayfield nor open holes for RB Nick Chubb, and that’s a huge problem.

Rams vs. Browns NFL Week 3 Betting Prediction

Although both teams have a huge repertoire of talent, the Browns haven’t looked like a good football team in the first two weeks of the season.

Their offensive line is a significant concern, but so has it been the coaching. It’s an obvious mismatch between Sean McVay and Freddy Kitchens in favor of the Rams.

I would wait to see if the line will come back down to 3 three points and take it. If it stays at -3.5, I would still bet the road team.

Los Angeles is a Super Bowl contender ready to repeat as NFC Champion. The Browns haven’t found their identity yet, and with all the new pieces it will take time. Bet Rams -3.5.
