Las Vegas Bowl Betting Lines

Washington opened -3 for this game, and it remains that way in many sportsbooks. Several others have dropped it to -2.5.

There is no inclination by the betting public in this game. The public is split so far.

The Boise State Broncos’ Form To Face Washington

Boise State had quite the season, ending with a 12-1 record while being crowned champs of Mountain West Conference.

The Broncos have won six games in a row since their only loss of the season against BYU back in October. Since the defeat, Boise State’s offense is averaging 38.6 points per game, and three times they scored over 40 points in those contests.

Senior Jaylon Henderson should be the starter for this game. However, there hasn’t been any official word about it. Henderson started the Conference championship game against Hawaii. True freshman Hank Bachmeier is back from injury but is now serving as a backup.

The Washington Huskies’ Form To Face Boise State

Coach Chris Petersen explained that he will step down because of anxiety. He won’t coach during the Las Vegas Bowl, but he will be on the sidelines. Instead, defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake will take the job.

Washington finished the season with a 7-5 record, but three of those losses came in the final five games of the regular season.

Offense Has Slowed Down

The Huskies averaged 31.5 points per game in 2019. Their offense slowed down in November and December after starting hot.

Junior QB Jacob Eason has thrown 2922 yards, 22 touchdowns, and eight interceptions this season, which is far from impressive, considering Petersen is an offensive-minded coach.

The defense allowed 20.4 points per game this season. They ranked third best inside the Pac-12, only behind Utah and Oregon.

Washington Huskies Vs. Boise State Broncos Las Vegas Bowl Pick

Boise State has a better overall record, but this game should be really close in the end. Washington’s defense might be the difference in the contest. They are a solid unit, with the right players to mess around the Broncos’ offense.

There is the Petersen factor, as well. This is his farewell, which allows me to think Washington might want to win this game for him. Bet Huskies -3.5.
