League of Legends Championship Series Week 8 Betting Picks
Only two weeks remain in the League of Legends Championship Series regular season and with only six playoff positions for the ten teams, the stakes are high for some and low for others.
Due to the postponement because of concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, the extra week to prepare for these matches adds an extra layer of complexity to handicapping the weekend slate of games.
It’s possible some of these underdogs could be better equipped to play spoiler as we saw in Europe on Friday.
Cloud 9 has secured a playoff berth while 2nd through 8th place is only two wins apart meaning there is a lot at stake and that almost every team should have plenty of motivation.
A few offerings stuck out on this weeks’ betting card. Let’s jump into them!
Dignitas Vs. Counter Logic Gaming

Dignitas have dropped five in a row and 9 of their last 11 games. Without a string of wins here and some losses by multiple teams ahead of them, it’s looking like Dignitas won’t be making the playoffs after a 3 – 0 start to the season.
For many, this isn’t really a surprise. The public didn’t exactly have high expectations going into the season, but a lot of people bought in after the hot start. Dignitas have shot themselves in the foot on a few occasions this season but haven’t been an impressive team by any stretch.
There isn’t really a lot that they do well outside of veteran mid-laner Froggen carrying them to the finish line. They’re inconsistent when ahead and predictable in their approach to the game.
Counter Logic Gaming isn’t that impressive either but ever since making the switch to Pobelter over Crown they’ve looked much improved.
What To Expect From Counter Logic Gaming
Last week, they took a game off of Team Solo Mid but then proceeded to get dominated by Evil Geniuses on day two. New ADC, Wind, has left a lot to be desired but there’s a chance it was just first week nerves.
Typically, when teams that have nothing to lose I like the over in total kills, especially when it’s a low number, but I’m going to take the under. Both of these teams like to play lower kill games but they do so in different ways.
Dignitas want to play slow, zone-control style team compositions or split push compositions. Counter Logic Gaming is similar since returning to Pobelter in the mid lane. Neither score a lot of kills in games with the strategies they prefer to employ.
Both teams average very low kills per game totals even considering their losing records. Dignitas is a league-low 8.1 kills per game while Counter Logic Gaming isn’t much better at 9.4.
Given the stakes at hand and stylistic considerations, I like the under even on the low total.
FlyQuest Vs. Immortals
|-5.5 (-115)||Spread||+5.5 (-115)|
|O 22.5 (-115)||Total||U 22.5 (-115)|
|Bet On FlyQuest Vs. Immortals On LCS Week 8 At Bovada.lv|
FlyQuest had a rough week losing to Team Solo Mid and Evil Geniuses but have still won 5 of their last 8 games and are still one of the better teams in the league even if they aren’t among the elites.
Immortals have won just 3 of their last 8, including a four-game losing streak and look to be coming back down from a hot start to the level most assumed they’d be at before the season started.
Immortals need this match a bit more than FlyQuest do as they sit at 7 – 7 tied for the final playoff spot while FlyQuest is 8 -6, but I doubt the motivation, or lack thereof, will play a huge role in this matchup.
PowerofEvil The MVP?
PowerofEvil has looked like the MVP of the league this season and he gets to square off against Eika, one of the weaker performing mid laners in the league.
This game comes down to the result of one very lopsided individual matchup and who handles it better. Immortals are going to have to find a creative solution to limiting PowerofEvil’s impact on this game and I’m not sure they will.
FlyQuest is 5 – 2 as favorites this season while Immortals are just 5 – 5 as underdogs. With an average margin of victory of 9.875 kills and losses only to playoff teams this season, FlyQuest is the side here.
Our FlyQuest Vs. Immortals Pick:
Team Solo Mid ML And Team Liquid ML Parlay
|Teams Parlay||Odds||Pay out|
|Team Solo Mid ML||+235||+118|
|Team Liquid ML||-170||+118|
Team Liquid has had a rough start to the season and has been unable to establish any kind of momentum whatsoever.
This break is exactly what they needed to build more chemistry with free agent jungler Broxah. They get a matchup against an overrated Evil Geniuses team.
Team Solo Mid has looked significantly improved over the past few weeks. They appear to have fixed their stagnant mid-game which was a cause for concern.
Earlier in the season Team Solo Mid demolished Golden Guardians who haven’t beaten a single top tier team this season.
