Kansas State Has Been Up And Down All Season
Kansas State is a tough team to figure out, and it’s hard to predict which team will show up. The Wildcats have impressive wins over Oklahoma and Iowa State, but also have some bad losses on their schedule.
Kansas State finished the season with a record of 8-4, and all four of its losses came in Big 12 Conference play. The Wildcats are scoring over 30 points per game while holding opponents to just 21 points per game.
Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson has thrown just 12 touchdown passes this season, and running might be his best attribute. Running back James Gilbert leads the team with 698 rushing yards, but the Wildcats have a whole slew of running backs.
The Wildcats will need to put together long drives in this game.
Navy Will Run You Over
The Navy Midshipmen have just two losses on the season, and both of them are on the road to ranked opponents. Navy brings a 10-2 record into this game, and it has won three straight games.
The Midshipmen feature the top rushing attack in the country, averaging over 363 rushing yards per game. Navy is averaging just 98 passing yards per game, but opponents have really struggled to slow down its rushing attack.
Great Rushing Attack
Quarterback Malcolm Perry has been the biggest star for Navy, and he leads the team in both passing and rushing yards. Perry has thrown for over 1,000 yards on the season and also leads the team with 1,804 rushing yards.
The great rushing attack has really helped the Navy defense, as that unit has allowed just over 22 points per game. Navy is going to use this same formula to try to pick up a win in the Liberty Bowl.
Our Kansas City Vs. Navy Liberty Bowl Betting Prediction
Both teams want to run the football in this game, but Navy does it much better than Kansas State does. The Midshipmen are also averaging more points than Kansas State this season, and it’s hard to see the Wildcats keeping up in this game.
The Wildcats had a terrific season, but it’s going to end in defeat. The best bet is taking the Navy Midshipmen -2.5 over the Kansas State Wildcats in the Liberty Bowl.
