Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida Gators 2019 – College Football Betting Odds And Picks
A territorial battle between the Miami Hurricanes and the Florida Gators is a great way to start the College Football season. The fact that is being played a week before the entire NCAAF week one lineup makes this showdown a lot more interesting.
Let’s look at what is coming when these two clashes this weekend. Let’s start with the Canes. Miami hired Manny Diaz as a head coach after Mark Richt abruptly decided to retire last season.
Diaz is a defensive-minded coach who is going to make his debut in this position. Most of his career he spent it as a defensive coordinator.

Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida Gators Betting Preview
Diaz named freshman Jarren Williams to be the starting quarterback for week one. Williams edged both Tate Martell and N’Kosi Perry for the job during the fall practice.
Jarren has both the arm talent and the ability to scramble out of the pocket. The experience is certainly a question. Plenty of good stuff has been said about the maturity of Jarren Williams over the past weeks, but he will start the season in a tough spot.
Last season Florida recorded 37 sacks and proved to have one of the most improved defensive units in the SEC. The Gators defensive line led by Jabari Zuniga will spoil the coming-out party for Williams.
Florida ended last season destroying both Florida State and Michigan with a combined result 82-29. I get that those games happened a while ago, but it’s a testament to the job Dan Mullen did on his first year.
Mullen made the Gators relevant again going from 4-7 in 2017 to 10-3.
What Florida Brings To The Table
Gators quarterback Feleipe Franks looks to take his talent to the next level. Last season he was one of the most improved players in the SEC. 2019 should become more of a confirmation season for him.
Florida also has a three-headed monster out of the backfield to help Franks. The tailbacks Lamical Perine, Dameon Pierce, and Malik Davis will be tough to handle.
Perine had 826 rushing yards last season while averaging 6.2 yards per carry. He’s aiming to get over the 1000-yard hump this season.
What The Odds Market Says About Miami vs. Florida
When the line opened, the Gators were 8-point favorites at MyBookie.ag. The line went down to -7.5 and now is currently a touchdown difference. The betting odds should stay that way over the next hours and until the kickoff. 57% of the public is picking the Gators -7.
The total reached a point where it was a high 54 points. In the past few weeks it could have been found at 50.5 points and now MyBookie.ag has it down to 47 points. 68% of the public is taking the under in this game.
Miami vs. Florida Betting Prediction
I find it hard to believe Miami’s offense will be ready for such a high stakes matchup with a freshman under center. Jarren Williams will be electric, just not this weekend.
Dan Mullen also has the experience and the nasty defense on his side. That should be enough for Florida to start with a solid W. Bet the Gators -7.
