Free Monday Night Football Week 14 Picks – Patriots vs. Dolphins Prediction
Week 14 ends with a divisional “rivalry” between the Patriots and the Dolphins. New England welcomed Miami to Foxboro a few weeks back and beat them handily, by a score of 35-17. The Patriots need to win to keep pace with Pittsburgh who notched a hard-fought victory to improve their record to 11-2 last week. Miami is out of the playoff hunt. New England Patriots vs Miami Dolphins Prediction
The Patriots are 10-2 after defeating the Bills in Buffalo last week in blow out fashion. They have locked up the AFC West once again and are now focused on securing a home-field advantage and improving their overall playoff position.
The most notable news for tonight’s contest for New England is the return of wide receiver, Chris Hogan. He’s been out for a month, but has been limited in practice all week and is expected to play. Rob Gronkowski is suspended for tonight’s game after a late hit in the win against Buffalo.
There’s not much to play for in Miami. The Dolphins did win last week against visiting Denver, but that broke a five-game losing streak. Their playoff hopes have already been dashed at 5-7. The only notable injury for them is that running back Damien Williams will not return this week. It looks like another full workload for Kenyan Drake.
Betting Action – Odds On The Patriots
The odds opened with the Patriots at -12, but has settled at -11 at most sportsbooks as of this writing. Bettors have favored the Patriots when it comes to tickets. The total opened at 48.5 and has dropped slightly to 48 points at most betting sites.
New England Patriots -11 at Miami Dolphins +11 Total: 48 points
On paper, this should be a slaughter for the Patriots, but I do like Miami if you can manage to get +11 points or more. New England’s defense hasn’t been good, and the Dolphins have played far better at home this season. Offensive and defensive numbers are much better at home than on the road where they’ve been lite up on the defensive side of the ball.
The Patriots don’t fall much for the look-ahead trap, but that may be a factor with Pittsburgh on the horizon in what is a massive game for both teams. Their offense has also been far more potent at home than on the road. They’re also missing Gronk tonight, which is a crucial weapon when looking to convert touchdowns in the red zone, as opposed to kicking field goals.
