Monday Night Football Week 15: Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins – Free Betting Preview and Prediction
The Panthers head to FedEx Field to take on the Redskins on Monday Night Football to end Week 15. Carolina doesn’t have much of a chance in the playoffs race as it is, but a loss tonight would eliminate them from playoff contention.
The betting odds in this game have moved drastically. Betting action has been split 50/50 regarding percentages, but the market has moved heavily for Washington after the odds opened at Redskins -4.5. They’re now at -7 at just about every sportsbook online.
The total opened at 51 points. The total has seen over 60 percent of wagers so far. Despite that, the odds have moved to 50.5 at most sportsbooks.

The Panthers – Season Hangs in Balance
Carolina rebounded in Week 14 after losing to Seattle the previous week, notching a 28-16 win at home against the Chargers. The Panthers offense sputtered once again last week, but they forced San Diego into several turnovers to get the victory.
For Cam Newton and Company, they have just a slim playoff hope with a 5-8 record. However, their division is one of the worst in the league, and several teams have more than five losses. The Falcons lead the division at 9-5, and they would need to lose out the rest of the way for the Panthers to have any chance at the postseason. They would also need help from other teams in the NFC South.
The Redskins – Norman’s Revenge
Josh Norman left the Panthers with much fanfare to ink a 75 million-dollar deal with the Redskins. Since then, their secondary has been in shambles, and it’s one of the main reasons they have struggled so mightily this season.
For the rest of the Redskins, it’s just another game, but one they need to win. If the playoffs ended today, Washington would get a Wild Card spot. However, they need to keep pace with other teams, as they have a 7-5-1 record, after winning at Philadelphia last week 27-22.
This isn’t a great spot for the Panthers, who haven’t been able to get much done offensively for quite some time now. The Redskins weakness is the run game, but they’re not bad enough against the run that it is a major weakness, in particular against this offense.
This game isn’t a great one to wager on, particularly with the large line movements. If you got the Redskins at -6.5 or lower, congratulations, you beat the market and have a great bet. With that said, it’s much tougher to take them now that they are -7.
If you want to go against the market, (something we don’t advise) and think the Panthers will win this game – this is the best price you’re going to get. More than likely, Washington wins this game and comfortably.
Remember, for all the talk about this being a must-win for Carolina. It’s just as important for Washington. There is no worry of a let-down spot in my mind.
Pick: Redskins -7
