2020 NBA Three-Point Shootout Contest Betting Odds & Pick – All-Star Weekend
Betting on the Three-Point Shootout Contest has been growing in popularity every year this past decade. As the NBA transitions more into the three-point game with deeper threes are becoming the norm, the contest is highly entertaining to watch.
The eight participants have 70 seconds to take 27 total shots from behind the arc from five different spots. The final ball at each spot is the Moneyball, worth an extra point. The top three finishers in the first round advance to the final round.
Additional Balls Added To The Contest – Green 3-Ball
This year, the league has added two new spots at the top of the arc that are located six feet behind the 3 point line. These racks hold one special green ball, which is called the “3-Ball.” Shots made with this ball are worth three points.

Let’s take a look at the 3-Point Shootout contestants and their odds to win:

What NBA player will win the 2020 Three-Point Shootout Contest? Check out our analysis of each player:
Duncan Robinson +375
Duncan Robinson has the highest three-point field goal percentage in the field at 43.7%. His rise as a solid shooter for the Miami Heat has been a surprise, but those who watch him know he’s an incredibly smart player.
Robinson has great mechanics, and his ability to spot up and shoot from anywhere will help him a ton in this contest.
Davis Bertans +400
Not many people know that Bertans is shooting 43.1% from the three-point line this season, but now you do. He’s similar to Robinson in that he has simple mechanics and doesn’t try to do too much with it. He has an incredible range, which will help him with the “3-Ball” for some bonuses.
Don’t sleep on him just because he’s on the Washington Wizards.
Joe Harris +450
Last year’s winner makes another appearance at the Three-Point contest. Joe Harris is here to defend his title, but it won’t be easy. Harris has a stable release, and his shooting mechanics are easily reproducible throughout 27 shots.
Don’t count him out just because Lillard and Young are on this list.
Trae Young +500
Trae Young is one of the most exciting young players in the league. His 37% 3 point field goal percentage is solid and along with his star-power is the reason he was added to this competition. Young and Lillard are the only two All-Stars in this competition.
When he’s hot, he’s lights out from anywhere, but he tends to be streaky at times. Also, his young age might be a problem here due to the inexperience of playing in the All-Star Weekend.
Buddy Hield +600
Buddy Hield is in the same boat as Young. They’re both fantastic shooters but may struggle under the lights. This will be his first All-Star Weekend contest ever even though he’s 27 years of age. Hield’s 41% 3 point field goal percentage this season is impressive, which is why he’s here.
He can get hot, but I don’t think this is his year in a loaded field.
Zach LaVine +1000
If you were to tell me a year ago that Zach LaVine was going to be in the three-point shooting contest, I’d have laughed. However, Lavine has the same 3-point field goal percentage as Trae Young at 37%. Saying he’s a streaky shooter, however, would be a wild understatement.
He has a shot on his home court of Chicago, which could be enough for him to go lights out for one night.
Devonte’ Graham +1100
Devonte Graham is enjoying an above-average shooting season while he’s on a horrendous team. He’s an up and coming player who is bound to be here to enjoy the festivities.
I don’t think he has a shot at winning this, but this is the Three-Point Contest, and anything can happen.
My NBA Three-Point Contest Pick: Duncan Robinson +375
I have to go with Robinson +375 to win this one. He is sort of no-name on this list for casual fans, but if you have been watching him shoot all season for the Heat – you will realize why he’s on this list. He’s been one of their best offensive players this season and is deadly from beyond the arc.
