The Grizzlies and the Thunder come into this game with two wins in a row. OKC is looking to avenge an earlier season defeat to Memphis in Tennessee where they got beaten badly.
Memphis has won four out of their last six games including their last two contests. They hosted the Jazz on Sunday and won that game 88-79. This improved their overall record to 24-16. They’re currently in the 5th spot in the Western Conference.
The Thunder are coming off two dominant wins, most recently, a 109-94 defeat of the Bulls on Monday in Chicago. They’ve been exceptionally strong at home lately, winning 8 out of their last ten games at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Their 23-16 mark has them just behind Memphis in the West.
The odds opened with the Thunder as -4.5 favorites. They have held there for the most part despite receiving more than 60 percent of wagers so far.
Some might be looking to bet Memphis here, but I think the game suits OKC considerably better. Not only are they seeking to avenge a loss, but they’re a much better team at home. They should win this game outright and possibly by double-digits.
Memphis has the size to stop Westbrook from having his way in the paint, but the Thunder have size themselves, and lately, RWB has had help with the scoring load. He’s gotten a lot more out of Oladipo in recent weeks the bench has also contributed more scoring.
Pick: Thunder -5
Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Clippers -10.5 Total: 208.5
The Clippers have gotten back to their winning ways. They’re still without Blake Griffin, but this team is still a force in the West. The Magic are trending in the other direction.
Orlando is falling farther and farther out of playoff contention each calendar day. The Magic fell to 16-23 after losing 111-95 at the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. They’re some ways from a playoff spot in the East, with the 12th best record.
The Clips are in the midst of a four-game win streak and are playing some of their best basketball of the season. They’re coming off a victory on Sunday against the visiting Heat. They dominated that contest, winning 98-86, with most of their starters playing under 30 minutes.
This game opened with the Clippers as -9.5 favorites. That has moved to -10.5 for the most part. However, betting action has been 50/50 for both sides as of the writing of this article.
L.A. should have no issues dealing with the Magic tonight. Elfrid Payton and Serge Ibaka are both questionable to play this evening, as well. Even with both of these guys fully healthy, the Magic would have a tough time competing in this one.
Pick: Clippers -10.5
