Sacramento Kings at Philadelphia 76ers +2 Total: 206

Philadelphia welcomes the Kings to town as they look to avoid a third straight loss. The 76ers played in Sacramento this season, winning 102-100 back in December.

The Kings have dealt with several injuries this season, but their starting lineup was dealt a mighty blow when it was discovered that Rudy Gay would miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

However, since Gay’s injury, Sacramento has played well. Their current east-coast road trip has seen them win three out of their last five games. Their last contest was a 109-106 victory against the Hornets on Saturday. The Kings currently have a 19-29 record, which is good enough for 10th in the Western Conference. They certainly have a shot at a playoff spot, as they are just 2.5 games behind the 8th seeded, Denver Nuggets.

The 76ers have been playing some improved basketball (especially by their standards) over the past month. They did, however, lose their last two games. They faced the Bulls yesterday in Chicago and were defeated 121-108.

Philadelphia has an outside shot at a playoff berth, but they will need to take their game to the next level down the stretch. They’re 14th in the East with a 17-29 record but are still five games away from a potential playoff berth.

Betting Action

Sacramento opened as -1.5 favorites in this game. Since opening, those odds have moved to Kings -2. It’s also worth noting the line has been pulled off the board at times, we’re guessing due to Joel Embiid’s injury status.

I like the 76ers tonight, with or without Embiid. I think he does suit up tonight and gets a fantastic matchup against a Kings’ frontcourt that is poor defensively. Philadelphia has been a good enough team over the past month to be able to hold their own, especially on their home court, against a team like the Kings.

They’re a fundamentally poor basketball team. Even on a back-to-back, I love Philadelphia in this spot.

Pick: 76ers +2
