NBA Betting 11-8-16 – Free Preview and Betting Picks
We have a 6-game slate tonight on the hardwood. Let’s get right into the picks. All our odds will be quoted from BetOnline (Full Review) and will be accurate at the time of posting. However, be sure to line shop for the best price.
The Pelicans head fresh off a game against the Warriors in Golden State last night to face the Kings in Sacramento. New Orleans is now 0-7 after losing 116-106 to the Dubs, despite excellent play from All-Star power forward, Anthony Davis. Davis dropped 33 points last night and brought down 13 boards against the Warriors last night.
The Kings last played on Sunday, beating the Raptors in Toronto by a score of 96-91. The victory gave the Kings their first in five games and broke a four-game losing streak. Their record sits at 3-5, good enough for 11th in the Western Conference.
The Pelicans kept last night’s game against the Warriors close for much of the contest. Each of their starting logged significant minutes and will now face a Kings team that has two days of rest. The matchup for Anthony Davis is excellent, as DeMarcus Cousins is not a good defender, but this is an ideal spot to attack the Pelicans.
They boast one of the worst defenses in the league and are inefficient with their offensive positions. The Kings have slowed their pace this year, which has helped them become more efficient on offense and defense.
The game last night being close hurt the Pelicans, even though they played much better than expected. The Warriors were favored by 17 points; many expected a blowout. Most of their starters played 30+ minutes, including 35 from Anthony Davis. They were a tough 30 plus minutes too, chasing the Warriors guards around all evening.
I like well-rested Sacramento team to take care of business tonight against a Pelicans ‘squad that will be tired on the back-to-back and likely demoralized by their 0-7 start.
Pick: Kings -5.5

Dallas Mavericks +4.5 at Los Angeles Lakers -4.5 Total: 205.5
The Mavericks head to L.A. to take on the Lakers, a team that has started off strong under new head coach Luke Walton. Both teams are well rested coming into this contest, last playing Sunday.
Los Angeles improved their record to 4-3 on the season after defeating the visiting Phoenix Suns at Staples Center. Dallas’ season has started off quite poorly. They got their first win of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks last week, by a final score of 86-75. The Mavericks find themselves near the bottom of the standings with a 1-5 record. The only team with a worse record is the above-mentioned Pelicans.
Everyone is down on the Mavericks right now. It’s with good reason, but their schedule hasn’t exactly been easy so far, and they’ve been banged up with injuries. Dirk Nowitzki has been ruled out tonight and guard Deron Williams is also doubtful.
However, this team still has a veteran coach who knows how to maximize his talent in Rick Carlisle and several veterans on the roster. The Lakers may not take this team quite as seriously as they should, with them being shorthanded with injuries and their poor record.
Los Angeles has a similar roster to last season and is starting guys like Nick Young. They’re playing over their head at the moment, and I expect a veteran team like Dallas to win this one outright or keep it close to the final buzzer.
Pick: Mavericks +4.5
