The Blazers continue their five-game road trip with a game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. After a rough start, Portland has won four out of their last five games, including an 112-110 victory at Chicago on Monday. They’re now eighth in the Western Conference with a 12-10 record.
The Bucks won four straight games before dropping a game by a single point to the Spurs on Monday, losing 97-96. Giannis Antetokounmpo has slowly become one of the elite players in the league and power forward Jabari Parker has become an excellent complement. The victory pushed the Milwaukee’s record to 10-9, good enough for 6th in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks opened this game as –2 favorites. They have received just over 60 percent of all wagers have come on Milwaukee. Despite that, the odds moved in the other direction to Bucks -1.5.
Portland’s poor start to the year was a shocker for many, who saw a team that took the Warriors to five games and played them competitively. They have righted the ship in a big way the last couple weeks and have always played well against the East, like most of the Western Conference.
Portland, when playing well, is one of the best teams in the league. In the Eastern Conference, they would likely be a top-four seed. They’re finally rounding into elite form and should win this game outright.
Pick: Blazers +1.5

Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers +4 Total: 224.5
The Warriors head to Staples Centre in Los Angeles to take on the Clippers. The matchup could easily be a preview of this year’s Western Conference finals.
Golden State sits atop the West and the NBA with an 18-3 record. A mark they improved upon on Monday, beating the visiting Pacers 142-106 on the back of Klay Thompson’s 60 points.
The Clippers’ season started off with a bang, but they have faltered a bit as of late. They lost three out of their last five games, including an 111-102 loss to the Pacers on Sunday evening. They’re third in the Western Conference behind the Warriors and Spurs with a 16-6 record.
Golden State has seen lopsided action in this contest so far. 80 percent of wagers have been placed on the Warriors, which have pushed the odds from a -3.5 opener to Warriors -4.
Here’s a secure spot to go against the Warriors. The Clippers can play with anyone this year and on their home floor – I like their chances in this matchup. The odds have also moved just slightly from the opener of -4.
You don’t get many chances to take one of the best teams in the NBA as a home underdog. It’s not worth passing this one up. Take the points with the home squad.
Pick: Clippers +4
