Miami Heat at Milwaukee Bucks -3 Total: 209.5
The Heat travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks on Wednesday night. Miami is easily playing their best basketball of the season over the past two weeks and now has a shot at a playoff spot in the East.
Miami’s win streak reached 11 games after they defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 115-113 on Monday night. The win at Minneapolis was their first of a four-game road trip. The victory improved their record to 22-30. They are now two games back of the Detroit Pistons for the final playoff spot in the East.
Guard Dion Waiters is questionable to suit up for tonight’s game. He left the arena after Monday night’s contest but is hoping he can play against the Bucks and that the injury is just a minor sprain.
The Bucks are also fighting to make the playoffs in the East. They’re coming off a 137-112 win against the Suns at Phoenix on Saturday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for Milwaukee.
The Bucks are a game ahead of the Heat in the standings with a 22-28 mark and just a single game behind the Pistons – making this game all the more important.
The Bucks opened at as -2 favorite in this game. Betting action has slightly favored Milwaukee so far, which has pushed the odds to Bucks -3 across the industry.
The Heat have played better basketball than any other team in the league as of late, but I think their run ends tonight at Milwaukee. Not only with they get Khris Middleton back this evening, but the matchup is excellent on paper, as well.
No one can guard Giannis Antetokounmpo on the Heat and will at least see Dragic for some of the game, which is a significant mismatch. Let’s also remember that the Bucks are well-rested compared to Miami, which played a hard-fought game on Monday night at Minnesota.
Pick: Bucks -3
Toronto Raptors at Minnesota Timberwolves +3.5 Total: 212.5
The Raptors head to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves who hope to break a four-game losing streak.
Toronto is putting together another solid season. They have won their past two games, including an 118-109 victory over the visiting L.A. Clippers on Monday. DeMarr DeRozan returned to the lineup and led the Raptors in scoring, dropping 31 points.
The win moved Toronto’s record to 31-21 and third in the Eastern Conference. They are now within striking distance of the conference’s top seed. After Cleveland’s recent struggles, the Raptors are now just three games behind the Cavaliers and one game back of the second-place, Boston Celtics.
Minnesota has lost four straight since losing Zach LaVine to a torn ACL, which ended his season. It’s a big blow to the Timberwolves and an unfortunate injury for a promising young player.
At 19-33, the Timberwolves would need a miracle to qualify for the playoffs with so many other teams ahead of them in the standings, even though they are just 4.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets in the 8th spot.
Action has been heavy on the Raptor since they originally opened at -2.5. Over 80 percent of bets have come on the visitors which has pushed the line to -3.5.
Road favorites that are getting massive public action aren’t my favorite types of wagers, but there’s a lot to like about Toronto tonight. They’re an excellent offensive team, and the Timberwolves continue to poor defensively.
Furthermore, home court hasn’t mattered much for Minnesota. They have won of the worst marks at home regarding win percentage, going just 12-16 at the Target Center. There isn’t a lot of fight left in this team and Toronto should cruise to a victory tonight.
Pick: Raptors -3.5
