NBA Consensus Picks – Warriors Vs. Rockets | Betting Odds
Are the Golden State Warriors in a mini-crisis? We are about to find out when they clash against the Houston Rockets in Primetime on Wednesday Night. The number one spot in the Western Conference is in play despite the slow season start by Houston. It’s hard to believe the Rockets actually have a shot at finishing on top of the Western Conference. Houston had more than an awful start of the season losing games than they shouldn’t.
Golden State Warriors Vs. Houston Rockets Predictions
Injuries didn’t help either. Houston is on a great streak with nine wins in a row, including victories over good teams like the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers. The winning streak started when they upset the Golden State Warriors 118-112 back on February 23 covering the spread a 12-point underdog. The victory allowed Houston to think they are once again, good enough to compete against the champions. The Rockets haven’t felt this way all season, but they do now.
They have become a great source of winning, covering the spread four of their last five games. Four of their last five games have gone UNDER the game total as well. The Warriors can’t say the same. They look like a team sick of each other and with lots of problems to find the winning rhythm they are accustomed to showing. Golden State has dropped four of their last six games, including a defeat against the Phoenix Suns just days ago.
From time to time the Warriors will have one of these awful exhibitions, but losing on the Suns right in the middle of a shaky streak is unforgivable. Golden State has covered the spread just once in their last six games, and it was against Denver in a Western Conference showdown. That night the Warriors proved they can turn things on whenever the stakes are high. The issue with this is Houston is not Denver. Even though the Nuggets have a good team which has overachieved in the West already, the Rockets have the superstars to compete. Houston was expected to be in this position. We can’t say the same about Denver.
The Rockets might have the Warriors’ number. Remember they were build to beat Golden State. Houston has won the last three straight games in the series in a row and covered the spread every single time. They have also won and covered in five of the previous seven meetings against the Warriors. I don’t think Golden State is in a position of power at this time. Instead, they are trying to figure what’s going on and how to fix it. On the contrary, the Rockets are rolling and feeling pretty good about themselves. Plus, they play at home, which will get them another boost to seek for the win. I have the Rockets winning and covering the spread in this Western Conference classic.
