Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers +4 Total: 226.5
The Cavaliers kept it competitive for the first half, but the game was well in hand at the end of the third quarter. The Warriors went on to win by a scoreline of 132-113. Not only have they not lost a game against Cleveland, but they’re on the brink of history if they sweep the Cavs. They will be the only team in NBA history to go a perfect 16-0 in the postseason.
Durant and Curry once again led the Warriors in Game 2. Curry triple-doubled in last Sunday’s victory and Durant had a strong game, putting up 32 points on 13 rebounds and six assists. Klay Thompson also finally had a good night, scoring 22 points on 8 of 12 shooting.
LeBron James did triple-double in the loss, but the Cavaliers defense was severely lacking. Kevin Love scored 27 points, but his defense has been a liability that Cleveland may not be able to overcome.
Golden State opened as a -2 favorite. About 70 percent of wagers have come in on the Warriors so far. The odds are at -3.5 at most sportsbooks, but Bovada has the Warriors at +4.
The total is another large one. The number opened at 225.5 points but now sits at 226.5 at just about every sportsbook online. Bettors have favored the over slightly over the under.
Taking the Warriors in this spot is easy. They’ve been flat out dominant, in this series, and throughout the postseason, but if there is a time to take the Cavaliers – it’s now. LeBron isn’t playing poorly. In fact, he’s playing great, it’s the Cavaliers’ defense, that has lost this series so far.
If they’re going to play up to the Warriors’ level, it’s going to be tonight. The crowd will be amped, and Game 3 is always the spot where a 0-2 team has the best chance to pull an upset. Cleveland’s moneyline looks appetizing at +145.
Pick: Cavaliers +4
