NBA Playoffs 4-20-17 – Free Picks
We had a rough day yesterday, going 0-2 with the picks as the Rockets won but failed to cover, and the Warriors and Trail Blazers went considerably under the total. However, today is a new day, and there’s a lot of playoff action tonight.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Indiana Pacers +2.5 Total: 210.5
The Cavaliers will travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers who will be looking for their first win of the series on Thursday evening. Cleveland not only has a 2-0 lead after defeating the Pacers 117-111 on April 17, but they have also taken three out of four meetings with them in the regular season.
However, both games in Cleveland have been close. The Cavaliers took game one, but only by a single point, winning 109-108. Both teams continue to play poor defense in a series that will continue to feature offense.
Cleveland opened the game as a -2.5 favorite. About 60 percent of bets have come in on the Cavaliers so far, but the line has moved to -2 at many sportsbooks. The total opened at 211.5 and now sits at 210.5.
Love the Pacers tonight. Yes, it’s apparent that Cleveland dominated them throughout the year, but this Cavaliers team is not quite the same unit we saw a few months back. Their defense is among the worst in basketball.
If you’re ever going to consider betting Indiana, now is the time to do so. Teams that are down 0-2 usually take Game 3 if they’re going to compete in the series. This series could easily be 1-1 if a few bounces go different directions in Game 1.
I expect the odds to continue to move away from Indiana and would not be shocked to see Cleveland at -1.5 as we get closer to tipoff.
Pick: Pacers +2.5
Toronto Raptors at Milwaukee Bucks -1.5 Total: 196.5
Toronto heads to Milwaukee in what will be a critical game for the balance of this playoff series.
The Raptors bounced back with a big win on Tuesday, dispatching the visiting Bucks by a score of 106-100. It was starkly different offensive performance compared Game 1, where they managed just 83 points in a losing effort.
The line has moved in favor of the Bucks since they opened as a -1-home favorite. About 60 percent of wagers have been placed on Milwaukee so far, which has pushed the line to Bucks -1.5 at most sportsbooks.
Toronto isn’t being fairly valued in this spot. I don’t predict them to go far in the playoffs and may even lose this series, but they’re a deep team with a decent amount of depth, and if their shots are falling, they’re certainly capable of blowing other teams out of the building.
Pick: Raptors +1.5
