NBA Playoffs 5-10-17 – Free Picks
We got a win last night with the Rockets at +5.5. They led for almost the entire game but did fall late, losing by just three points in what was a fantastic basketball game. The Wizards and Celtics are also in a highly-contested series, that is tied 2-2, before tonight’s pivotal game at T.D. Garden.

Washington Wizards at Boston Celtics -4.5 Total: 216
After Washington’s 121-102 win at home on Sunday evening, everything is even. The game was close for much of the evening, but Washington went on a 26-0 run to pull away and grab the victory.
Kelly Oubre was suspended for fighting last game but will be back in the lineup tonight against Boston. The Wizards will need him, as they had little production from their bench, other than long-range shooter, Bojan Bogdanovic, who scored 13 points in 22 minutes. Otto Porter and Markieff Morris have carried much of the load of offense and defense the past few games, filling up the stat sheet.
The Celtics offense scored over 120 points in their first two games, but that has ground to a halt in the past two. Celtics’ point guard, Isiah Thomas, dropped 53 points in Game 2 but has only put up 32 points in the previous two, combined. Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder have also struggled from the field. The Celtics have gotten almost nothing regarding bench scoring.
Boston opened as a -4 favorite. The odds have shifted to -4.5, but betting action has been mostly even between the two sides. About 60 percent of wagers have come in on the over, but at most sportsbooks, the odds have not moved the 216-point opener.
The sides don’t make much sense to me tonight. Projecting the performance of these teams has been tough, and there is a lot more uncertainty tonight compared to last night’s game with the Rockets and Spurs.
I think we’re in store for another high-scoring affair this evening. Both teams play at a fast pace and have been scoring a lot, even with key starters from the Celtics having some off nights. Those shooting percentages will get closer to the mean tonight, and I could easily see both teams scoring near 110 points tonight.
Other than Morris, there truly isn’t a player on either team that is more than above-average defensively, and there are mismatches all over the floor. Take the over 216.
