Washington Wizards at Boston Celtics -5 Total: 210.5
The Wizards survived Game 6 thanks to clutch play from point guard John Wall late. Washington’s star hit a three-pointer with just 3.5 seconds left to give the Wizards a 92-91 victory on Friday evening.
Wall got plenty of help in the win, with backcourt mate, Bradley Beal, scoring 33 points. Markieff Morris dropped 16 points, and 11 boards and Marcin Gortat had added another 13 rebounds. The Wizards bench was not much help, scoring just 13 points. That’s something that will have to change in Game 7.
Boston didn’t get much from their reserves in Game 6, either. The bench managed just five points and were kept in the game mostly by guard, Avery Bradley, who scored 27 points on 10-18 shooting. Al Horford also scored 20 points on 8-12 field goals, including two three-pointers.
Betting Action
The Celtics opened at -4 favorite on their home court. Betting action has been heavy on Boston since opening, which has pushed the odds to -5 at just about every sportsbook online. The total opened at 212.5 but has come down to 210.5 at most sportsbooks.
Prediction
It would have been nicer to get Boston at -4, but I still think there is value here even with the line moving a full point. We’ve seen the Wizards not show up for two games this series and based on last game – they are lucky to have a chance in Game 7, at all.
Boston’s defense has improved throughout the series. The Celtics have contested 55.3% of the Wizards’ shots and have both shot better and defended better at T.D. Garden. I like them to produce tonight on both ends of the floor and think they could easily win this one by double-digits.
Pick: Celtics -5
