We’re back for Friday’s NBA action. Despite a strong run as of late, we lost with the last pick, as the Celtics were demolished by the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. These teams are back at it tonight in Game 2.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Boston Celtics +6 Total: 219
Reeling after their Game 1, Boston looks to turn the tables in Game 2.
Cleveland is still perfect in the postseason after winning 117-104 on Wednesday in Boston. That win was their ninth straight. 13 points was the margin between the two teams, but the scoreline did not reflect the competitiveness of the game. The Cavaliers had this one sealed at halftime.
The undersized frontcourt of the Celtics hurt them badly in the series’ first game. Kevin Love exploded for 32 points, and 12 boards and Tristan Thompson had 20 points and nine rebounds. Cleveland has been excellent at T.D. Garden recently, winning five out of their last six games in Boston.
The Celtics’ chances of toppling the Cavaliers, despite being the higher seed, will take a serious hit if they go down 2-0 in the series. Boston’s starters, along with their bench, all had a poor showing in Game 1.
The Cavaliers opened as -4.5 road favorite. Over 80 percent of wagers have come in on Cleveland so far. That has pushed the odds to Cavs -5 at most sportsbooks, but Bovada currently has them at -6.
I don’t love this game tonight, but I do still there is plenty of value to be had on the Celtics, especially at Bovada, where they are +6, compared to +5 at most other sites online. Boston deserves a bit more credit, even after their rough loss to open the series.
Yes, Cleveland has not lost a game in this postseason. They’re playing at an extremely high level, but the Celtics did win 53 games and are fully healthy coming into tonight’s contest. They also have an excellent home record throughout the regular season and into the playoffs.
I wouldn’t put this one as a full unit play unless you can grab +6 at Bovada. At +5, it’s a half unit play.
Pick: Celtics +6
