New England Patriots Vs. Houston Texans NFL Week 13 Betting Picks And Odds
The New England Patriots want to keep the top spot in the AFC, and to do so, they need to beat the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.
A Patriots loss combined with a Ravens win against the Niners will put Baltimore on top of the American Conference. For New England, hosting the playoffs is a crucial step to try to reach another Super Bowl.

The Patriots opened -4 on the road, but the line has moved down over the past few days. Many sportsbooks have set this game at -3.5, and there are some with -3.
64% of the betting public is taking the New England Patriots to cover the spread on the road.
The New England Patriots’ Edge Vs. The Texans
New England is 10-1but the road to get there hasn’t been pretty at all. Their defense is playing top-notch, but we can’t say the same about the offense.
The Patriots defense is statistically the best in football, both in yards and points allowed. Last week they held the Dallas Cowboys to nine points and grabbed the win despite scoring only 13.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore
The one guy that is changing the entire form of the defense is cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who is taking out the best wideouts from their opponents. Last week he held Cowboys’ WR Amari Cooper without a catch the entire game.
New England’s defense has the edge over QB Deshaun Watson. The quarterback has had a good season, but once again, the offensive line is having problems protecting him. Watson has been intercepted at least one time in the last two games and defenses sacked him seven times in those games.
The Houston Texans’ Edge Vs. The Patriots
The first thing you look at when mentioning the Texans is Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins, but that’s not where they need to win this game. Their defense has a better chance.
Tom Brady and company have been struggling over the last two months to sustain a decent offense, and every weekend it gets more noticeable. Brady has thrown just two touchdowns in the last three games. His completion percentage has been a combined 50.6 in the previous two contests.
The Patriots Defense
New England can’t run the ball, and every receiver they have is dealing with an injury. The defense has bailed them out, but if Houston can score between 14 and 17 points, they should be golden. I don’t see how the Patriots’ offense matches those numbers.
And then there is Watson. He’s coming off ten days rest ready to try the best defense in football. Despite the sacks and the turnovers, he always keeps coming, giving Houston more than just a fair chance to win.
New England Patriots At Houston Texans NFL Week 13 Predictions
HC Bill O’Brien is 0-5 in his career against the Patriots, but he won’t get a better chance to beat them than on Sunday.
Tom Brady is playing at an uncharacteristic low level. New England can’t run the ball, and their receivers are all banged up. Houston is playing at home, with ten days of rest and a great chance to steal one and remain on top of the AFC South.
Betting New England would be betting on the past. This version is not as good as the years before. Their 10-1 record is inflated by a lousy schedule. Bet Texans +3.5.
