What we know about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs have won three in a row while Tom Brady has thrown eight if his 11 touchdowns in the last two games.
However, the offense is depleted by injuries. Tampa Bay lost TE OJ Howard (Achilles) for the rest of the season, while WR Chris Godwin (hamstring) will miss his second straight game. WR Mike Evans didn’t practice on Tuesday because of an ankle problem.
Brady still has WR Scotty Miller, who seems to be one of his favorite targets. He leads the Bucs with 250 yards and is second with 15 catches.
The Buccaneers haven’t been great running the football. They are 27th in the NFL, but last week against the Chargers, they ran it for 115 yards.
What we know about the Chicago Bears
The Bears suffered the first loss of the season last weekend against the Colts. Chicago ran only 28 yards against Indianapolis, and their inability to establish the run handcuffed the rest of the offense.
Nick Foles threw 249 yards and a touchdown but was also intercepted once. The jolt the Bears offense was looking for with Foles didn’t happen. They are averaging 21.3 points per game this season (25th in the NFL).
Their defense remains the cornerstone of Bears. They have allowed 20.3 points per game this season, which is sixth-best in the league.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears TNF Prediction
The Buccaneers are a work in progress, especially on offense. Tampa Bay has too many injuries in a short week to expect them to perform at their best.
The Chicago Bears offense is a mess. It can be fixed, but it needs tons of work, and changing the quarterback in Week 3 already showed us it didn’t help.
The game will be ugly, hard-fought, and with shaky offenses. You are better off grabbing the points.
Bet the Bears +6 (-110).
