Pittsburgh Penguins Vs. Philadelphia Flyers Predictions
The Philadelphia Flyers have more than just a puncher’s chance to get into the postseason, but with fewer than 20 games in the season, they better start putting a winning streak together, beginning on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. After two disastrous losses, the Flyers need to put together another run. On Saturday they will host the Penguins at the Eagles stadium due to the NHL Stadium Series. It’s already a loss for Philadelphia that was suited better to be playing indoors. During outdoor games, the fans don’t put enough pressure on the opposite side.
Philadelphia dropped two in a row against Tampa Bay (5-2) and Montreal (5-1). They won 12 of their previous 14 games before hitting a wall against the Lightning and the Canadiens. Losing by that much against Tampa Bay is not out of the question, but the lack of effort against Montreal sure set the alarms off. Pittsburgh is in playoffs position, and they were playing great before stumbling against San Jose in their last outing. Their 4-0 defeat opened a lot of eyes for those who were ready to bet the Penguins to be the dark horse of the postseason.
The Penguins have won four of their last six games, but their two losses were against San Jose and the Calgary Flames. Both are Western Conference teams with a solid chance to be in the Stanley Cup if things go their way.
The Flyers haven’t been a great bet overall this season when they are the home team. A $100 bet on each of their home games would have resulted in $-395 in losses this year. The Penguins are not great either with $-193 on the road, but they are not the team in need for a win on Saturday night. There is a crazy trend going in the series between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The road team has won the last seven games in the series. Back on February 11, they met at the Wells Fargo Center, and the Penguins came up with the 4-1 win. They have split the season series with one victory apiece, but I’m following the road team trend to keep collecting money. What’s the play? Penguins.
