NL Wild Card Playoffs – Rockies at Diamondbacks

We managed to notch a win yesterday with the Yankees, whether you took them on the runline or moneyline. Tonight, we shift back to the NL, where the Colorado Rockies will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 PM EST. The game will be broadcasted on CBS.
Our odds are quoted from Bovada Sportsbook (Full Review). However, we encourage bettors to line shop for the best price before placing their wager.
Colorado – Jon Gray
Colorado goes with a young starter, Jon Gray, who has easily been their best pitcher this season. He comes into the game with plenty of confidence, holding opposing hitters to three runs or fewer in his last 13 starts. On the year, he has a 3.67 ERA. However, his FIP is 3.18, likely due to the tough playing environment of Coors Field.
Arizona – Zach Greinke
Greinke has been fantastic this season after his Diamondbacks career got off to a rocky start the year before. Like Gray, he has a hitter-friendly home ballpark, in Chase Field. Still, he’s managed to put together a magnificent season with a 3.55 ERA, 215 strikeouts, and 17 wins.
Betting Action
The Diamondbacks opened as a -168 favorite with the Rockies as a +155 underdog. Arizona has gotten most of the action from bettors, pushing the odds to -175 at Bovada, with the underdog, Rockies, sitting at +150. The total opened at 8.5 runs. Bets have been split on the total, but most sportsbooks have increased vig on the under.
Prediction
If you think the Diamondbacks dominate tonight, then you can go ahead and place your bet on them at -175 or on the runline. I don’t see any sharp action or a big move in this game, and I do think there is some value with Gray and the Rockies.
Gray pitched well in two starts against Diamondbacks this season and has shown to be an excellent pitcher on the road. I don’t love either side tonight, but I could see taking a half-unit stab on Colorado tonight.
Pick: Rockies +155 at Bovada
