Oklahoma City Thunder Vs. Golden State Warriors – NBA Opening Night Betting Predictions
Oklahoma City Thunder Vs. Golden State Warriors Predictions
- Spread: Warriors -11.5
- Game Total: 224.5
- Game Time: Tuesday, October 16, 2018 | 10:30 PM ET
- ORACLE Arena, Oakland, CA
- TV: TNT
As predictable as the NBA is, the start of the season always presents the notion that something different might happen. Teams are not in form yet, and the Warriors might start slow which will give the Thunder an opening to steal an early game in the series. Most of the time is just ideas we put in our heads because we get tired of Golden State’s domination. The Warriors have won eight of the last ten games in the series against Oklahoma City. And the last time the Thunder visited ORACLE Arena, they were hammered by a 32-points difference.
The oddsmakers made the Warriors an 11.5-point favorite for the opening night. The betting line opened with Golden State as a 12-point favorite, and it moved down half a point. I don’t see any other movement before the tip off. 56% of the betting public thinks the home team will destroy the Thunder and cover the spread. At one point the game total was at 226 points, but it moved down to 224.5. Because of the constant change, I can see the total dropping at least one point when the game starts.
Oklahoma City Just 1 Out Of 7 Versus Oakland
Oklahoma City has won just once in the last seven visits to Oakland. The good news for them is they no longer have Carmelo Anthony on their side. Melo is a ball hugger by nature who disrupts the flow of any team. The bad news is Russell Westbrook hasn’t been cleared to practice. He still is nursing a knee surgery he had in September and will probably miss the first few games of the season. OKC will enter ORACLE Arena with just Paul George and Dennis Schroder as their two main guys to keep the score close against the Warriors. Golden State, on the other hand, will have all their firepower available. Only DeMarcus Cousins, is not ready as he still is rehabbing an Achilles injury. It just looks like a bad matchup for the Thunder altogether. Golden State Warriors -11.5.
