Oklahoma Vs. West Virginia – College Football Week 13 Picks

Oklahoma Vs. West Virginia - College Football Week 13 Picks

It would have been a dreamed Big 12 scenario if West Virginia had gotten to this game with one loss. But they were upset by the Oklahoma State Cowboys last week to become a two-loss team. The Mountaineers are pretty much out of the playoffs race, but they can still win the Conference championship with a win over Oklahoma.

The oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag have the Sooners as 2-point favorites on the road. The betting line opened with Oklahoma as a 2.5-point favorite. It moved down to be a pick’em, but it’s now back to 2 points. 52% of the betting public is going with the road team. The game total is at a high 85.5 points. It started at 81.5 points.

Oklahoma Vs. West Virginia Predictions

Since losing to Texas, Oklahoma has won five games in a row; all against Big 12 teams. We know they can score quickly and in bunches but their suspect defense is always the issue. Last week they scored 55 points on Kansas, yet they allowed 40. They failed to cover as a 35-point favorite because their defense can’t stop anybody. Oklahoma still won by 15 points, but Kansas is a three-win team this season with seven losses inside their conference. The Jayhawks have won once over the last two months. If the Sooners can’t destroy a team like that, then they might not deserve a playoffs spot.

Now, West Virginia is no Kansas. The Mountaineers can score as well as anybody. They average 40.3 points per game and have surpassed the 40-points mark in the last four games of the season. Their last week loss against Oklahoma State was a shocker. I’m a fan of Mike Gundy and his Mullet, but Cowboys defense had proven to be weak. West Virginia should have rolled on them, and they let it slipped. By all means, Friday Night games will be a shootout. It probably goes down as one of the most exciting games of the season. And I would argue the team with the ball the last win the game. Just like it happened when West Virginia beat Texas a few weeks ago.

I do not trust any of the defenses to make a stop. Both offenses are so much better than the opponents’ defenses. But If I’m going to put my money on a quarterback, it has to be the Sooners Kyler Murray. He has been balling all season. The pressure of replacing Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield never got to him. Now Murray is gaining some buzz in the Heisman Trophy conversation. He still is a long shot as Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa remains the favorite, but Murray is definitely gaining some momentum. Because of Murray, I’m taking Oklahoma to win late. What’s the play? Oklahoma -2.
