Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys | NFL Week 5 Picks And Odds
The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys dropped their unbeaten run last week despite being listed as favorites in their respective matchups.
The two NFC contenders will be trying to avoid a second consecutive loss when they clash in one of the best contests of the NFL week 5.

The Cowboys were -4.5 when the betting line opened at MyBookie.ag. But since, it has moved one point down, and now Dallas is -3.5. I expect the line to drop to a field goal difference by the time of the kickoff.

What’s the Packers’ Edge Over the Cowboys?
The answer is the obvious one. It’s Aaron Rodgers. He’s about to face a defense that recorded only five sacks in the first three games of the season.
Sure, Dallas sacked Saints QB Teddy Bridgewater another five times last week, but Teddy doesn’t have Aaron’s mobility; plus, he’s a backup QB for a reason.
Rodgers hasn’t played to his usual level in 2019, but last week he recorded 422 yards and two scores in the loss against Philadelphia. He looked like his old self scrambling around and making plays all over the place.
Dallas knows exactly what that looks like. Rodgers has won six of the last seven outings against the Cowboys, including two wins during the playoffs.
It’s October 1, so Halloween decorations are out & Aaron Rodgers is at his spookiest, with his most wins & highest passer rating of any month🎃

Also, the Packers defense will try to bounce back after allowing 176 rushing yards to the Eagles last week. Green Bay defense was praised by many during the first three weeks but had a horrible showing against Philly.
Green Bay had ten days to prepare for this game after playing on Thursday Night during week 4. I would be surprised if they play as bad as they did against Philadelphia.
It’s the perfect opportunity to bounce back. Dallas offense doesn’t have as many options as the Eagles
What’s the Cowboys’ Edge Over the Packers?
The Cowboys will try to follow the Eagles’ game plan from last week and run the ball early and often against Green Bay.
When Dallas gave Ezekiel Elliott his new contract, they were paying Zeke to carry with the offense. Elliott is coming off his worst performance of the season in the 12-10 loss against New Orleans, where he only recorded 35 yards on 18 carries.
Zeke is the key player on the offense. I know we love talking about the quarterbacks, but in Dallas is not about Dak Prescott, it’s about the run game.
If Elliott can find holes, then the rest of the offense will open for Dak.

Dallas will also have WR Michael Gallup back for this game. He has been limited in practice after a meniscus trim, but the team is expecting him to suit up. His mere presence will help the offense against what should be a tough challenge against Green Bay.
WR Amari Cooper was doubled team by New Orleans last week. With Gallup around, one of Dak’s main targets will be free, and Dallas should be able to have a better showing than against the Saints.
Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys Week 5 Prediction
The Cowboys’ current 3-1 record is a little inflated by a weak schedule. Beating teams like the Giants, Redskins, and Dolphins, it is nothing to brag about.
Dallas -3.5 seems a little high for my taste. I didn’t see anything I liked from the Cowboys offense last week vs. New Orleans and they might struggle early on against Green Bay as well.
On the other hand, I get Aaron Rodgers inside a dome with a +3.5 to spare. Green Bay has holes; let’s not act like this is a Super Bowl contender team right now. However, Rodgers finally had one of his usual games last week, and that’s a relief for the Packers’ fans.
Green Bay and Dallas will trade the lead several times during this game. In the end, it should be decided by a field goal difference.
