Panama Vs England World Cup Picks – Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips
England looks to build off their hot start after taking down Tunisia in the final minutes. It was their first tournament win since 2006. Harry Kane finished things for the Three Lions in the final minutes with a header goal to take the lead. Panama made a name for themselves in qualifying, knocking the United States out of Russia, but have yet to capitalize on their hype after one game. They held Belgium to a 0-0 tie in the first half but ultimately succumbed to a 3-0 defeat. They will need at least a tie in today’s game to have any chance of advancing. My 2018 World Cup pick for June 24th is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss
Panama Vs England – Recent Form & Injury
England rolled through qualifying, but that has been the case in the last several tournaments, only for the Three Lions to falter once the World Cup begins. However, they looked great against Tunisia and ultimately could have scored several more goals on many near misses. As far as injuries, England is mostly healthy. Danny Rose was a noticeable absentee from the first fixture, as he has struggled all season with injuries at Tottenham. He may be brought into the rotation, however, at some point. Dele Alli picked up a slight injury in the first game. He should be available but is not expected to start.
Panama struggled a bit in qualifying, losing three and winning three of their last ten games. However, the team was still overjoyed to qualify for their first World Cup. Things did not get off to a good start against England, however. Rodriguez’s injury was not nearly as bad as it seemed in the game against England and he was plenty involved. The rest of the team is healthy and we should see similar starting XI tomorrow against England.
England -1.75 (-122) Vs Panama +1.75 (+109) Total: o2.5 (-116)
England as massive favorites in the 3×1 market at -412, with a Panama win at 17/1. A draw also has long odds at +522. England is also a large favorite on the Asian handicap at -1.75 at -122 and versus Panama’s +1.75 at +109.
Although England looked a little shaky at the back, their quality and scoring chances were extremely impressive. Panama was conservative against Belgium until they had to score. I expect them to be a bit more aggressive in this one since they need a result. That should open things up for England on the counterattack with their superior talent. Tactics don’t matter much in this one if the Three Lions can relax a bit and make the most of their chances. This one could get ugly right away.
