Seahawks Vs. Cowboys Predictions – NFL Wild Card Betting Odds | Lines
The Seahawks vs. Cowboys matchup is the most intriguing of the wildcard weekend in my book. Both teams are similar and have a unique winning formula. This is perhaps the best pure football matchup of the weekend. Dallas is currently a 1.5-point favorite at MyBookie.ag after opening at 2.5 points. 52% of the betting public is taking the home team to cover the spread. The game total started at 41.5 points but is now at 43.5-points.
Seattle Seahawks Vs. Dallas Cowboys Wild Card Predictions
What makes this game so appealing is these two teams still play old-school football despite the league’s trends to pass the ball almost on every down. Seattle and Dallas refuse to do just that by running the ball early and often. The Cowboys have the league’s leading rusher in Ezekiel Elliott, who won the rushing title despite not playing in week 17. Elliott’s main issue is his red zone stats don’t match the workload he has on the rest of the field. Zeke only recorded six rushing touchdowns this season. 20 running backs recorded more touchdowns than him. For some reason, the Cowboys’ play call takes the ball away from Elliott in the red zone. The Seahawks have the league’s best rushing attack, averaging close to 8.0 more rushing yards per game than the next team in the rankings. What makes Seattle so hard to stop is the willingness to stay with the run and do it by committee. The one difference between both teams is the quarterback play. I trust Russell Wilson so much more than Dak Prescott. Wilson had one of its best seasons, throwing for 35 touchdowns this year. He has done it without true playmakers on his side. WR Doug Baldwin might be the only great receiver Wilson has, and he has been playing injured all season. Seattle has won four of their last five games against Dallas in any scenario. To be fair, I think the Seahawks have an edge in coaching, the quarterback position, and the running game. Plus, the betting line is giving us points to spare. What’s the play? Seahawks +1.5.
