Seattle Seahawks vs. Minnesota Vikings – NFL Preseason Week 2 Betting Picks and Odds

Seahawks vs Vikings Preseason Week 2 Betting Picks

Seattle is a great team to bet in the preseason. The reason is they have an open mind for late-round pick players, and they don’t care if their players come from a 6th or 7th round pick.

Everybody gets a chance when training camp opens. The Seahawks meets the Minnesota Vikings in an exciting matchup in the preseason week 2.

MyBookie.ag currently has the Vikings as 3.5-point favorites for this game. The line opened with the home team as a field goal favorite, but it has gone up over the last few hours.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview

Other sportsbooks have Minnesota as a 4-point favorite, although that won’t last that long. 55% of the money is coming to the Vikings’ side, which is perfect for us.

Fading the public is one good tip about betting the NFL preseason. Nobody really knows what’s going to happen in these games, mostly because it’s about a bunch of backups trying to earn a spot on the roster. So why not taking the value on betting the other side of the public?

Neither of these teams has a quarterback battle coming into the preseason. Both know precisely who the starting QBs are. The interesting part comes when there is a need to find out who is the second in the roster. In Seattle’s case, the battle to be Russell Wilson’s back up is wide open.

Last week in the win against the Broncos both Geno Smith and Paxton Lynch had their chances to prove themselves to Pete Carroll. Lynch has the better night, completing 11 of 15 passes for 109 yards and one touchdown. He also ran hard and added another touchdown against his former team.

Geno Smith was far from impressive. He went 3-9 for 58 yards without touchdowns or interceptions. He also was sacked twice. It’s safe to say round one went to Lynch’s corner without a doubt.

But the good thing about the preseason is Geno now has another chance to make his case against the Vikings. There is no information about the status of Russell Wilson for this game in Minnesota.

The Vikings Predicament

If he ends up playing, it would be for one series. The Vikings have a similar predicament, but their backup QB battle is a three-way street between Sean Mannion, Kyle Sloter, and Jake Browning.

It will be hard for one of these names because and the end of the preseason, one will get cut. Sloter and Browning happen to be very young, and that doesn’t help their cases.

What’s the Pick for Seahawks vs. Vikings Preseason Week Two Matchup?

Preseason football is about finding out which team has the edge on critical positions. In this situation, it’s clear Seattle has more familiar talent at the quarterback position.

For better and for worse we know Geno Smith and Paxton Lynch. They have started in the NFL in the past, and I feel more comfortable playing the side that I know. Bet the Seahawks +3.
