Seattle Seahawks Vs. Philadelphia Eagles NFL Playoffs Wildcard Betting Picks And Odds

The Seattle Seahawks are the only favorite team on the road in the NFL wildcard round. Their matchup against the Eagles sees the Philadelphia Eagles depleted by injuries.

Let’s dive into the last game of the weekend.

The Eagles opened -3, but the betting odds took a huge swing, and now the Seahawks are -2.5 on the road. 70% of the betting public is taking Seattle to cover the spread.

The Seattle Seahawks’ Edge Vs. The Eagles

Seattle is a team that wins close games. They were 9-2 this season decided by a touchdown or less. Is that sustainable? Not really, but it tells you somehow, they win close contests.

The Seahawks’ most significant strength is QB Russell Wilson, who has been balling all season. He has thrown 4110 yards, 31 touchdowns and just five interceptions this year. Only Aaron Rodgers threw fewer interceptions than Wilson.

We also will get to see how much left RB Marshawn Lynch has in the tank. He was used on very few occasions against the Niners in week 17. They do need him to shine.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ Vs. The Seahawks

To be fair, the Philadelphia Eagles were not expecting to be in this position. They are so injured, it was easy to think Dallas should have gotten their place, yet the Cowboys didn’t want it.

The toughness of the Eagles is their edge over Seattle. I know it sounds a little cliché, but the team has a level of resilience that most franchises would love to have.

QB Carson Wentz has thrown seven touchdowns, without an interception in last month. His offensive line has buckled up while giving him time in the pocket to complete passes.

The Eagles’ running game has been excellent over the last four games and is something to keep an eye on. They have been averaging 141.5 rushing yards per game in the previous four weeks of the regular season.

Seattle Seahawks At Philadelphia Eagles NFL Playoffs Prediction

The Seahawks are a team that has lived right on the edge this season. Their point differential in the regular season a +0.4, the second-lowest of the 12 playoffs teams. Only the Texans have a worse point differential.

I have two bets that I like in this game. The official wager is to take the Under 45. Neither of these two teams has explosive offenses, and injuries have hit both units.

I can see both coaches approaching this contest carefully, with long drives and giving filed position a lot of importance. It should all add up to fewer than 45 points.

The Home Team And The Points

Then, if you are looking for a spread bet, I like the home team with the points. I haven’t been impressed by Seattle this season.

They have lost three of the last four games of the regular season, not to mention games where the Cardinals and Rams demolished them. Seattle doesn’t have overwhelming talent that can take over the Eagles’ depleted team.

Both can hang around with the other, making this game a close one in the end. Bet Eagles +2.5.

NFL Pick: Eagles +2.5
