Seminoles’ Season Of Turmoil Coming To End
It’s quite rare to see a college football head coach fired in the middle of the season. That’s exactly what happened with the Seminoles’ Willie Taggart. Recently, the Seminoles have hired former Memphis coach Mike Norvell.
The firing was not unwarranted, as Florida State was in the middle of another dismal season for a program with large standards.
The Seminoles lost two out of their first three games to Boise State and Virginia, then got smacked by Clemson to fall to 3-3.
A road loss at Wake Forest was the final straw before the Seminoles won two out of their final three to become bowl-eligible.
Florida State saw Cam Akers rush the football 231 times for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns. But Akers will not play in this game for the Seminoles, preferring to focus on the NFL Draft.
Tamorrion Terry is a stud at the receiver position, as he came away with more than 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns this season. Florida State ranked 33rd in all of college football with 269.4 yards per game via the pass.
Edwards Looking For Win Heading Into 2020
We all know Edwards from his time in the National Football League, but now he is bringing his knowledge to Tempe.
The Sun Devils are responsible for keeping Oregon out of the College Football Playoff with their 31-28 upset win over the Ducks at home. The Sun Devils backed it up with a win over Arizona to finish 7-5.
Strong Offense And Defense
Arizona State is pretty solid on both sides of the ball, but its defense was the key in its wins. In their five losses this season, the Sun Devils allowed 31.5 points per game, while in their seven wins, they allowed just over 18 per game.
Offensively, the Sun Devils are anchored by their quarterback, Jayden Daniels, who threw for more than 2,700 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2019.
Daniels’ top target was Brandon Aiyuk, who finished with 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns, but Aiyuk is skipping this game to focus on the draft. Arizona State may also be missing its top rushing threat, as Eno Benjamin declared for the draft as well.
Our Florida State Vs. Arizona State Sun Bowl Game Prediction
Neither program will be at full strength for this game. That’s too bad because this is a pretty fun matchup.
Arizona State is going to want to grind this game out. Can it sustain the football enough without its top running back? That’s the question, and also the question for Florida State.
In the end, there is a team that is more talented than the other, and that’s the Sun Devils. Florida State is 0-6 against the spread in its last six against non-conference teams.
Look for that trend to continue. Bet the Arizona State Sun Devils at -4 in this game.
