Sunday Night Football Betting Odds – Giants Vs. Cowboys Predictions

Needless to say, this is a must-win game for both the NY Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Their week 1 loss put both teams in an awkward position. Facing a 0-2 hole after just two games was not part of the plan for any of these franchises. The Cowboys opened as 3.5-point favorites against the Giants at Sportsbetting.ag and the game total at 45 points. The line moved down half a point to leave Dallas as a field goal favorite at home. If both teams met in a neutral field, the betting line would be a pick’em. The total dropped 2.5-points. Our odds below are from SportsBetting.ag Sportsbook. What’s the latest NY Giants betting form to face the Cowboys?

The Giants failed to meet the expectations last weekend in the 20-15 home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. New York was a 3-point underdog but never really had a chance to cover the spread. Despite the game ended with a five-point differential, it was never really close. Jacksonville always looked like the better side. The total was set at 42.5 at Sportsbetting.ag and the bettors who took the UNDER collected big time. New York has lost eight of their last nine road games. Their offense was the issue last week. QB Eli Manning had one of his usual erratic games completing only 22-37 passes for 224 yards and one interception.

If not for a 65-yard run by the rookie stud Saquon Barkley, the Giants never even smell the end zone. Even as Barkley posted 106 rushing yards, and a scored; 65 yards came in one play. He needed 18 touches to rack up the other 41 rushing yards. The Giants offensive line is definitely a concern. The Jaguars sacked Eli Manning twice and hurried him several other times. Barkley struggled to put the run in motion. Nothing worked last weekend.

Facing a Dallas defense with an underrated defensive line is not a great matchup for NY. The Cowboys sacked Panthers QB Cam Newton three times last week and were all over his face the whole game. The betting trends say Giants bounce back after an ATS loss. They are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss. But the first month of the season is not quite their best time. Giants are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in September.

What’s the latest Dallas Cowboys betting form to face the Giants?

Dallas was not expected to win a week ago, but I’m sure their fans are looking forward to a better performance this Sunday, especially on offense. The Cowboys were 3-point dogs on the road against the Carolina Panthers in week 1. The offense only scored once as they fell 16-8 in the first weekend of football. The Cowboys offense was held to just 232 total yards. Neither QB Dak Prescott nor RB Ezekiel Elliott had a game usual to their standards. The unit, in general, failed to find any kind of rhythm.
What Prescott showed in his rookie year seems like ages ago. He looked so confident then and with lots of upsides for the remaining of his career. He has now failed to throw over 200 yards in nine of his last 17 games.

Running back Zeke Elliot only recorded 69 rushing yards and a score against Carolina last week. He doesn’t have impressive numbers when facing the Giants. Elliott has scored just once against the G-Men in three games. He also averaged 87.3 in those three meetings. Maybe the only good news coming from the Cowboys’ camp is they have dominated this series lately. Dallas has won seven of the last ten games against the Giants. The Cowboys are also 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NFC East and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 2.

The play for the SNF game between Giants vs. Cowboys?

Both teams have well-known issues on offense. But the performance of the Giants offensive line is a huge question mark. They are learning a new offensive scheme, with different calls for pass protection. It’s a mess when five different guys are learning an entirely new language. To make it worse, we know what could happen when Eli Manning is under pressure and is not pretty. The Cowboys defensive line is underrated. DE DeMarcus Lawrence leads a defensive unit that was improved plenty over the last couple of seasons. Nobody talks about them because the main focus is Zeke and Dak, but Dallas’ D-line should win this game for them. The play is Dallas -3.
