Mexico Vs Sweden World Cup Picks – Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips
Mexico takes on Sweden in their final Group F game. Both sides will have control of their own destiny in the match. Mexico leads the group with six points and they will advance if they avoid a loss. Sweden can get to the top spot in the group if they manage to beat Mexico 2-0, but they know that scenario is unlikely. Another unlikely, but plausible scenario, is a that Germany loses to South Korea, which would see Sweden get to the next round, if they manage to secure a victory of any sort against Mexico. My 2018 World Cup pick for June 24th is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss
Mexico Vs Sweden – Recent Form & Injury
Mexico stormed through World Cup qualifying, winning the CONCACAF group by five points and losing just one of ten matches in qualification. They didn’t perform nearly as well in friendlies, but their 1-0 victory over Germany, was certainly not a shock to those that followed the team closely. They followed it up with an easy win over South Korea. Mexico hasn’t made many changes to their starting XI. They also have no injuries. Hector Moreno and Hector Herrara do have yellow card concerns, but that’s about it.
Sweden faced a much tougher path to qualification. They had to face Italy in a two-legged playoff to get into the World Cup, which they managed to win 1-0 to shock the world. The Swedes only change was a substitution difference between the first two games. They are healthy and should have the same starting XI that they had last match.
Mexico -0.25 (+108) Vs Sweden +0.25 (-116)
The oddsmakers like Mexico, but a draw is more likely in this match compared to others at +231. Sweden to win outright is +244 and Mexico is around +131.
Mexico doesn’t need this game, but I love their talent and attacking prowess against anyone in this tournament. Even Sweden, who has been strong at the back, won’t be able to handle the Mexico attack. I like them to take this game, even though they don’t need it to advance.
