Trail Blazers Vs. Warriors NBA Playoffs Game 2 | Expert Picks And Betting Odds
When the Portland Trail Blazers watch their effort in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, they will find some shame, I’m sure. Game 2 needs better energy and a lot more aggressiveness from Portland to steal one from the Kevin Durant-less Golden State Warriors.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Golden State Warriors Game 2 Betting Preview
The Warriors were 8-points favorite in Game 1 and were able to cover the spread without breaking a sweat, winning 116-94 on Tuesday Night. Golden State opened as an 8-point favorite once again for Thursday matchup, but since it opened, the line dropped half a point. I can’t see it falling further. Instead, it might go back up to 8 before the tipoff.
Portland looked off all night in Game 1. They had no fight in them and just felt like a team that was tired after a Sunday Game 7 clash against the Denver Nuggets. Their backcourt was outplayed horribly with Damian Lillard scoring 19 points and CJ McCollum adding 17. The Blazers shot 36.1% from the field and 25.0% from three-point land. It was an overall bad performance.
Warriors Still A Big Contender
The Warriors seem like they found some sort of new gear after the injury of Kevin Durant and as hard as it looks. Call me crazy, but the team seems happy to not have him around. It’s hard to sell the idea that Golden State is better without KD, but they manage spacing and ball rotation better without him. The flow of the offense is just different and more polished, and that’s why they have averaged 117.0 points per game in the two contests Durant didn’t play.
With no KD on the court, it also gives Steph Curry a sense of responsibility to be the number one scorer, and he enjoys it. Curry scored 36 points in Game 1 shooting 9 of 15 from three-point land. Klay Thompson added 26 points, and the Splash Brother completely controlled the first clash.
After Game 1, we can find the Warriors at -855 to win the series and advance to another NBA finals. That gives them an implied probability of 89% to advance to the next round. I know Portland is only one game behind, but the people making the odds at MyBookie don’t have a lot of faith in a comeback. At +605, the Blazers have a 14% chance to reach the finals.
Will The Trail Blazers Win Game 2?
With that said, Game 2 should be a lot more different from Game 1. I would be shocked if the Blazers played as lousy as they did on Tuesday Night. They won’t shoot as bad as they did and is nearly impossible they give a more weak effort. Those two teams combined should give us a much better matchup and a closer final result. I have the Warriors winning the game, but Portland should cover the spread.
What’s the play? Portland +7.5.
