UCF Vs. Duke Predictions | March Madness Round 2 Betting
9 UCF Knights Vs. 1 Duke Blue Devils Betting Preview
How about a matchup between Zion and Tacko Fall? The most hyped NCAA player in the last 15 years and the tallest player we might have ever seen at 7’ 6″. Oh yeah, a place in the Sweet Sixteen will be in play as well, when UCF and Duke meet in the March Madness second round. Duke had a similarly slow start as North Carolina. Their first-half showing was weak, with very little energy and they wasted time to pull an easy victory. In the second half, the Blue Devils finally played to their abilities and hammered the Bison with a 54-35 rally. Duke did fail to cover the spread as a 27.5-point favorite because they wasted most of the first half.
RJ Barrett was the main guy on offense putting a show with 26 points and adding 14 rebounds. Zion also was pretty good with 25 points and a couple of highlights for social media. Duke remains as the favorite to win the tournament +200 to do so. That won’t change anytime soon whether you like or hate how they started the tournament. If you like them with their odds 2/1 to win the NCCA title, it’s better if you take them now. It won’t get better moving forward. Pass the Sweet 16 stage their odds might drop a little, and the current value will be gone.
For this game, the Blue Devils are 13-points point favorites. The money line implied probability to win this outing is at 92% for Duke. An upset is unlikely or in the category of a March Madness miracle. The implied chance of winning outright for UCF is 12%. UCF took down VCU with a 73-58 result. The Knights beat the Rams 73-58 in the first round and hammered the spread as a 1.5-point favorite. They had three players with double-digits in scoring, including the tall Tacko Fall who recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds.
At 7 feet 6 inches, Fall is one of the tallest living people in the world. The problem is he becomes a liability against Duke. As tall as he is, let’s face it; he moves funny and slow. The Blue Devils are a fast team with one of the quickest transition games in all college basketball. The betting line opened with Duke as a 13.5-point favorite but it quickly moved down. I would be willing to lay down up to 15 points for this win against UCF. Duke is better overall with superstars on their team. The Knights don’t have any kind of player on that level. The Blue Devils already played a bad half of basketball in the tournament. Coach K won’t allow it to happen again. Duke will come out blazing in this one. What’s the play? Duke -13
