Masvidal barely prepared, but he showed up to fight Kamaru Usman.
The rematch between Usman and Masvidal will be a different story as both fighters had proper camps to prepare.

Kamaru Usman Odds To Beat Masvidal
At -380, Usman is a big favorite for this title fight. When we get an exciting title contest, the odds are usually slightly more even, but not this time.
Kamaru Usman is 18-1 in his MMA career, with the only loss recorded in 2013 against Jose Caceres.
I don’t remember what I was doing eight years ago, let alone how Usman lost his undefeated status so quickly in his career.
Since then, he has won 17 fights in a row, becoming one of the world’s most dangerous fighters.
But the thing about Usman is he’s not a finisher per se. Because of his wrestling background, he has no problem taking his fights deep in the rounds and win by decision.
Five of his last seven contests, including the win against Masvidal, went the distance.
Gilbert Burns, however, didn’t have the same luck as you can see in the video below.
Jorge Masvidal Odds To Beat Usman
In 2019 Jorge Masvidal became one of the biggest names in UFC by beating Darren Till, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz in consecutive fights.
The 5-second destruction against Askren and the TKO win over Diaz got him a new form of respect.
He was no longer a fighter with a bright future, but instead, he had arrived.
His last performance against Usman is a little unfair, however. Dana White called at the last second with less than a week to prepare.
Masvidal took Kamaru to five rounds, but he was clearly gassed in the fight’s final minutes.
Now with a good training camp, Jorge will be 200% better prepared for the rematch. He has the background and punching power to get Usman in trouble.
He can follow the same script as Gilbert Burns, but with better delivery, to upset the Nigerian.
Usman Vs Masvidal Prediction
Kamaru Usman is getting a ton of respect from the oddsmakers. And he probably deserves it, but I don’t think he’s far superior to Masvidal.
I’m curious to see what Jorge can do with a full camp on his side. In the first fight, he proved he wasn’t scared of Usman.
He just didn’t have the stamina or the legs to make it a fair fight.
After showing zero fear and with a proper camp on his back, I’m willing to go with the underdog.
At +315, the odds are attractive enough to put money on one of the most aggressive fighters of the last couple of years.
Usman exchanged punches against Burns and came on top. I see a similar approach against Masvidal, but I don’t think he will be as lucky this time. Bet Masvidal +315.
