A Personal Opinion On Unibet

What We Don’t Like About Unibet

Unibet’s support staff has been the subject of many complaints. They do offer 24/7 support through live chat, but players often complain about waiting for 15-20 minutes for a response. Phone lines are not 24/7 and have long wait times. Email responses can take more than 24 hours, which is subpar in today’s market. Their rating at Sportsbook Review is a C+. We don’t find this rating especially fair, considering they’re far safer than just about every American-facing sportsbook and most bookmakers worldwide. As always, SBR is a valuable resource, but their ratings often depend on who they are promoting, so their ratings and reviews should be taken with a grain of salt.

With that said, Unibet does still have some complaints on file from 2015, some of which probably relate to issues with support. However, SBR did give them a rating upgrade in 2015, after they resolved the issues they had on file at the time. Aside from issues with support, there isn’t a whole lot of other negatives. Their maximum payout per day is small at £100,000 per day for major markets, but that’s perfectly acceptable to the vast majority of punters. Their welcome bonus is a bit small at £25, but they more than make-up for this with their top-tier odds. Many players report have their bets limited quickly. It’s tough to verify this from forum posts alone, but it does make sense considering their low limits. Many bookmakers these days don’t want anyone who might be a winner, and Unibet may fall into this category.

Unibet Sportsbook Bonuses

£25 / € 50 100% Risk-Free Bet

Unibet Sportsbook Betting Bonuses And Promo CodesAll players that sign up at Unibet get a £25 risk free bet. To receive the bonus, it must be a new account. They previously cannot have opened an account with their other brands, such as the online casino or poker room. Risk-free bets are the worst kind of bonuses, and the small amount isn’t significant compared just about any other bookmaker online. However, a bonus is a bonus, and Unibet gives their customers some risk-free action to play within the sportsbook.

The wager must be rolled over five times before it can be withdrawn. This rollover isn’t great, particularly when you consider we’re talking about £25 here. It can be cleared on any betting market, but the decimal odds must be 1.4 or greater. One caveat for the bonus is that customers cannot use Skrill or Moneybookers if they wish to take advantage of it. Unfortunately, this is a policy by many bookmakers. However, it’s an easy workaround for most as just about everyone has a credit or debit card available.

Other Unibet Promotions

Their deposit bonus may be small, but Unibet does make up for it with other promotions. Their offers are similar to many bookies that are much larger than them. Many of the promotions center on popular UK, Irish, or Western European sports, but you will occasionally get offers elsewhere.

Unibet Sportsbook Detailed Promotions

Just some of the examples include money-back promotions and price boosts on top football and tennis markets. Their promotions are frequently updated, so checking back regularly or before you place a bet on a popular market is well worth your time.

Unibet Review Highlights

Elite Interface

Unibet’s betting software is certainly deserving of more praise. It is rarely talked about as one of the top interfaces for online sports bettors. It’s basic but extremely fast. They do an excellent job of getting as much information on each page as possible, but things still don’t seem cluttered or overwhelming.

Unibet Sportsbook Betting Software Interface Odds And Markets

Their full list of betting markets is listed on the right side, with the most popular events listed first, and then a full A-Z list of every sport or event available. There is also a live counter to every event that Unibet currently has for in-play betting. The bet slip isn’t listed on the page taking up space. Instead, after you click on a selection, it appears on the bottom right of the screen. Both pre-match and in-play betting menus are easy to use and definitely at the forefront of betting software.

Streaming options are available on the right of the screen for each in-play market that has live streaming. They even offer a visualization of events that don’t have live streaming or if that option isn’t available for players for whatever reason. Unibet provides players with three different odds types. Their default odds are listed in decimal format, but they fractional and American odds are also options.

Betting Markets and Odds

Unibet doesn’t lack when it comes to markets. They cover just about every sport in the world, including a nearly unlimited amount of markets on football. Western European sports will have the most betting options, but even more obscure markets have at least a half dozen extra or more extra markets besides the traditional options. When it comes to live-betting, there isn’t much of a drop-off. Football, tennis, golf, and cricket will have the most betting options, but sports like basketball and American football won’t be far behind.

They have odds on football, tennis, golf, horse racing, cricket, rugby union, American football, Australian rules, bandy, baseball, basketball, volleyball, boxing, chess, cycling, darts, e-sports, handball, ice hockey, motorsports, netball, politics, pesäpallo, poker, snooker, surfing, trotting, mixed martial arts, winter sports, and WWE. Unibet’s odds, on the whole, are fantastic. As we mentioned above, they seem to fly under the radar as an elite choice for odds. Their odds on football are some of the best online. They have a bookmaker margin of under 4%. American football also has margins of 3.8% and tennis at 4%. Their markets are mostly competitive across the board, aside from hockey, which has rather high margins compared to the rest of their markets.

Low Maximum Payouts

Unibet’s minimum wager across all markets is a mere £0.10. Their limits, on the whole, are quite small compared to other larger bookmakers. Their maximum payout per day on any market is £100,000. Punters can expect that the £100k payout is in effect for top-flight football leagues, such as English Premier League and other sports, like tennis, but that’s probably just for the main markets (win, lose, tie and Asian handicaps). Game and team propositions for the leagues will be considerably lower, along with lower division matches and those in less popular markets.

Unibet Shaky Support

Live Chat Available
Customer service is easily the biggest negative when it comes to evaluating Unibet. Their support team is either understaffed or apathetic when it comes to dealing with players. Our guess is that it’s the former. Email responses usually take up to the full 24 hours (or longer) to receive a response. These times are slow. Live chat often involves waiting a bit before receiving a response. Phone support is not 24 hours, but available until from 7 am to 1 am on weekdays. Support through that methods seems to be the best, but customers should not have to dial a phone number to receive proper support in today’s day and age.

Their KYC process is extensive, which is likely one of the reasons that customers have issues with support. It doesn’t usually start until a player runs up a balance to at least a few thousand. At which time they are requested to verify their identity. This is a process at all bookmakers (and online gambling sites for that matter), but Unibet may be slower than others in the verification process.

Unibet Deposits and Withdrawals

B

Their cashier options are probably around the industry standard, if not slightly below. With them being such an international bookmaker, we expected more options, particularly when it comes to local alternatives to popular cashier methods. However, they don’t lack when it comes to currencies accepted. They accept Great Britain Pounds, Euros, and about a dozen or so other currencies. Chances are, if you’re able to play at Unibet, they will have your local currency.

Unibet doesn’t charge players for any deposits or withdrawals, regardless of the method. The cashier choices are mostly standard. All the primary debit and credit cards are accepted, including MasterCard and Visa. The e-wallet selection is noticeably without PayPal, but Skrill and Neteller are both listed. Other methods include bank transfers, PaySafeCard, and Ukash. The KYC process may hold up your withdrawal from being approved, but once you’re verified, Unibet handles their payouts quickly. Funds heading back to Neteller and Skrill take 12 hours at the most but are typically processed faster. Bank transfers take 1-3 business days. Withdrawals back to debit and credit cards take 3-5 business days.

Underrated Choice

Unibet has comparable markets and odds to the top bookmakers online but doesn’t get a fraction of the ink. They’re also a worldwide bookmaker that is active in just about every market unless they are forced out due to legal reasons. They’re an excellent site to add to your betting repertoire and one that many punters seem not to consider.
