They also signed another Chiefs’ weapon in RB Spencer Ware, who is known as a reliable second-back.
Perhaps the most head-scratching move was adding ex Panthers WR Devin Funchess for one year in exchange for $13 Million.
With Andrew Luck now as an afterthought, Jacoby Brissett will command the offense.
Brissett got his chance two years ago when Luck was injured, but now things have changed. He has been in Frank Reich’s system for over a year and knows his teammates well enough to be better than in 2017.
Indianapolis Colts 2019 NFL Draft
Over the past few years, the Colts have built around the NFL draft, and they aimed for good results once again in 2019.
The team traded their first round to the Washington Redskins, and that allowed them to have three second-round picks.
Used Draft To Strengthen Defence
They used them to select two defensive players, including CB Rock Ya-Sin from Temple. He’s expected to have an immediate contribution in the secondary.
Overall, they selected seven defensive players and three from the offensive side.
Watch out for WR Parris Campbell who is a speedster outside the numbers.
2019 Indianapolis Colts Schedule Analysis
Indianapolis will start the season with two road games. First against the LA Chargers and then against the Tennessee Titans.
In the first two-and-a-half months of the season, the Colts will play six of their first nine games at home.
The team has scheduled the AFC West and the NFC South as opponents this year. They will also get to play the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins as their other two rivals outside the division.
Three Primetime Games On The Road
The NFL gave the Colts three primetime games during 2019, and they are all on the road.
Indy will play in Kansas City, the place where they got eliminated last season in week five.
Then in week 12, they face a divisional matchup in Houston.
Their last national televised game will be in New Orleans against the Saints in week 15 on Monday Night.
