The Broncos added a veteran quarterback to their roster this offseason trying to solve their problems in that position.
The front office traded for Joe Flacco looking to accomplish something like what they had when they signed Peyton Manning back in 2012. After adding Flacco, they traded QB Case Keenum to the Washington Redskins.
Improvements Made To O-Line
Another Broncos’ issue over the last few seasons has been protecting the quarterback. They added offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James from the Miami Dolphins to improve the o-line.
But John Elway didn’t stop there as he also hired one of the best offensive line coaches in Mike Munchak. On defense, they signed cornerbacks Kareem Jackson and Bryce Callahan.
Denver Broncos 2019 NFL Draft
Perhaps the most important addition was TE Noah Fant, who was selected with the 20th pick in the draft. Fant should be a starter right from week one.
The Broncos also picked what should be their QB of the future in Drew Lock. That should tell you how paranoiac they are on getting the QB position right.
2019 Denver Broncos Schedule Analysis
Denver will open the season with the second Monday Night Football matchup of week one, visiting the Raiders in Oakland. It is one of the two prime-time games they have scheduled this year.
The other one is a Thursday Night Week 7 matchup at home against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos’ bye week is at week 10.
They Have To Face Four Road Games In Five Weeks
Coming out of the week of the rest Denver will play four road games in the next five weeks. A couple of visits to Minnesota and Buffalo should be rough in November.
Then in December, they will visit Houston and Kansas City. In between those five games, there is a home matchup against the Chargers.
Just like the season started, the Broncos will play the Oakland Raiders in the regular-season finale.
