2020 NBA All-Star Game: Team LeBron Vs. Team Giannis | Betting Odds & Pick

2020 NBA All Star Game Betting Odds and Pick

The 2020 All-Star game will take place in Chicago. The two captains are Lebron James for the West and Giannis Antentokounmpo for the East. It’s challenging to determine which team will win due to the less than serious nature of competition. We can still analyze the rosters along with the All-Star game betting odds.

NBA All-Star Game Teams And Players

Team Lebron is 5-point favorites, which is reasonable since the West is much better than the East talent-wise. Just by glancing at the starting lineups, it’s evident that the West has the upper hand.

Team LeBron has:

  • Anthony Davis (7-time All-Star)
  • James Harden (8-time All-Star)
  • Lebron James (16-time All-Star)
  • Kawhi Leonard (4-time All-Star)
  • Luka Doncic (1st-time All-Star)

Team Giannis, on the other hand, is far less experienced with,

  • Giannis (4-time All-Star)
  • Joel Embiid (3-time All-Star)
  • Pascal Siakam (1st-time All-Star)
  • Kemba Walker (4-time All-Star)
  • Trae Young (1st-time All-Star)

The West has built-in synergy between AD and Lebron, so it’s tough to get excited about the East.

The game total at 300 is incredibly high due to the back and forth nature of the game. Usually, teams don’t play defense till the final few minutes assuming the game is still close. For the rest of the time, they just run up and down the floor, chucking open shots or setting up pretty looking dunks.

Analysis Of Team LeBron

On paper, this team is just insane. The athleticism plus experience makes Team LeBron a fierce force to beat in this contest. Even the reserves are stacked. Nikola Jokic, Ben Simmons, Jayson Tatum, and Russell Westbrook could be an All-Star team of their own.

I believe that -5 is a bit conservative since this year, the All-Star Game will be commercial-free during the 4th quarter to honor the late Kobe Bryant. With Lebron and AD having deep connections with Kobe, it feels like a narrative waiting to happen. I believe they will go their hardest during the entirety of the game and especially the fourth quarter to bring the win to Team LeBron.

Analysis Of Team Giannis

I want to believe that the young players on Team Giannis will step up in their first All-Star game, but it’s not likely. Including reserves, they have six players who are first-time All-Stars compared to just four on Team LeBron. Giannis has a way to make those around him better, and there is the added benefit of showing that it’s his league now.

On the other hand, if we look at the rosters on paper, it’s tough to root for Team Giannis. Players like Trae Young, Bam Adebayo, and Pascal Siakam will be fun to watch during the first three quarters, but I think this game will be decided by the starters during the 4th quarter when there’s no commercial break. During that time, Team LeBron has the upper hand and will roll over Team Giannis.

Who To Bet On During 2020 NBA All-Star Game

The clear choice here is to take Team LeBron at -5.

The All-Star Game will be all about Kobe, and the fourth quarter is where they will shine. Expect the game to look like a regular All-Star game the first three quarters as players show off their dunking and deep shooting ability.

Come the fourth, and it’ll be LeBron and Co. taking over. I’m not a fan of betting the over/under on the All-Star game due to it being tough to predict how “hot” these players will be during the game.
