If the free agency for the Giants didn’t make much sense, the 2019 draft wasn’t far away from that feeling either.
The front office picked QB Daniel Jones with the 6th overall selection, even though he was projected to fall to the third or fourth round.
Their best move was adding DT Dexter Lawrence from Clemson also in the first round. Lawrence was picked with the selection that the Browns sent to New York for the rights of Odell Beckham Jr.
2019 New York Giants Schedule Analysis
New York will start the season on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. In the first five weeks of the season, the Giants will play only one team that made it to the playoff in 2018, and it’s precisely Dallas.
The week six meeting in New England against the Patriots will be relevant because it will be the last time Eli Manning gets to face Tom Brady. It’s also one of the three games the G-Men have scheduled on primetime.
The Giants will get to play teams from the AFC East and the NFC North from outside their division. They also have in their schedule meetings against the Arizona Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
