2020 NFL Draft Betting Odds – Football Draft Preview | Prop Bets & More
A lot has changed since we did our 2019 NFL draft glimpse back in December. Back then we had no idea what sport Kyler Murray was going to play and therefore, picking defensive playmakers was the way to go. When Murray announced he was going to play football as a professional everything changed, including Josh Rosen’s address. Although, we don’t know where he will end up, yet. Let’s see what might go down on Thursday, April 25th in Nashville, Tennessee, home of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Who will be the number one overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft?
MyBookie.ag updated the odds after Murray made the announcement and that put him alone as the favorite. After all, the NFL is in love with quarterbacks as everybody is trying to find the next Patrick Mahomes. Arizona has a potential game changer selection with the number one pick. Just imagine the Cardinals letting Kyler pass and then seeing him destroy the league in the next ten years. They can’t afford to make that mistake. No General Manager wants to put his name next to that move.
Prediction: Kyler Murray -1000.
More interesting than the first overall pick is the trying to bet on who will go second. The San Francisco 49ers have the second pick in the NFL draft. It doesn’t happen often than the two first two picks goes to divisional rivals, but in 2019 this is the case. Let’s see the odds dropped by My Bookie.
Who will be the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft?
DE Nick Bosa (Ohio State) -300
Nick Bosa will do magic for the 49ers in the defensive line. When Arizona drafts a guy like Murray, it becomes a divisional chest matchup. San Francisco needs to select a player that will hunt down Murray in the next decade.
DT Quinnen Williams (Alabama) +300
Whoever gets Quinnen Williams they are going to get a playmaker with unreal abilities and a perfect sense on how to make an offensive line’s life a living hell. Williams could be a hybrid between Vince Wilford and Aaron Donald. The sky is the limit for this player performing out of the nose tackle.
QB Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) +600
For Kyler Murray to be the second overall pick in 2019, a significant plot twist has to happen. First, Arizona would have to try to outsmart people by selecting any other player. Then, a team with quarterback needs will have to trade up with San Francisco to get Murray. The 49ers invested their future in QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Murray is not landing in the Bay Area, at least not dressed in red and gold.
QB Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State) +1300
For many Dwayne Haskins is the best quarterback in the NFL draft, even above Kyler Murray. Haskins can make all the throws and has the physical presence Murray doesn’t. For him to go in the second spot a team will have to make a trade with the Niners. I won’t rule it out completely. The NFL draft night some time takes a crazy turn.
LB Josh Allen (Kentucky) +1400
Josh Allen is a fantastic linebacker, and whoever gets him will land a terrific player, but is unlikely he will get to be the second pick in the draft. Players like Nick Bosa, Quinnen Williams, and Ed Olivers are generational studs that San Francisco won’t pass if they are available.
Bonus Track: Who will be the first defensive back drafted?
MyBookie.ag has odds for the first defensive player drafted in 2019, and in this case, it should be a steal. Greedy Williams is the best cornerback on the board, and some team will land him sooner rather than later. +100 odds on Williams is a great bet to make during the NFL draft night. There is value on this bet, and it’s a sure thing as it gets.
