BetVictor Review

BetVictor Sportsbook Lines Betting InterfaceBetVictor is one of the largest bookmakers in the world. Their history dates back to shortly after the Second World War. The operator hasn’t missed a beat as sports betting became a global online phenomenon. The bookie was founded in 1946 by William Chandler. William Chandler was the grandfather of the company’s first chairperson, Victor Chandler. The company was originally named Victor Chandler before rebranded to BetVictor.

Chandler was a pioneer in online sports betting in many ways. In 1998, he was one of the first UK operators to move his business to Gibraltar to avoid UK gaming taxes. He began accepting wagers from Asian markets long before many other top bookmakers.

In May 2014, Michael Tabor, a businessman and large owner of Victor Chandler took over the company. He made the decision to rebrand to BetVictor. BetVictor operates all over the world. They’re one of the largest private employers in Gibraltar where they employ a staff of over 350 people. They operate in over 150 countries and have a customer base of at least a half a million.

The longtime bookmaker is licensed and regulated by the Government of Gibraltar under the Remote Gambling Commission. They also hold a license in the United Kingdom, which is authorized by the UK Gambling Commission. BetVictor operates in many grey jurisdictions. However, they offer their services throughout the world and is heavily regulated to ensure the best services for their customers.

A Personal Opinion On BetVictor Sportsbook

What We Don’t Like About BetVictor

One of the biggest complaints about UK-centric bookmakers is that their odds are too heavily focused on Irish and British sporting events. BetVictor falls into this category. They have fewer markets on certain sports and offer less competitive margins.

However, they still do offer an extensive selection of sports worldwide, but for most markets will be available for sports like football and tennis. Most of their promotions will also be centered on these sports as well.

If you’re interested in streaming live sports (as aspect many love to do when in-play betting) BetVictor isn’t going to offer punters much there. The only streaming options available are horse races.

BetVictor Review – Sportsbook Deposits and Withdrawals

BetVictor does a lot of business around the world, including in Asian markets. They have a large list of currencies, including Pound Sterling, Euros, United States Dollars, Singapore Dollars, Australian Dollars, Swiss Francs, Danish Kroner, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krone, New Zealand Dollar, Romanian New Lei and South African Rand.

All major credit and debit cards are accepted. Other options include e-wallets, such as Skrill, Neteller, and PayPal. There are a few more choices, including bank transfers or wires for large payouts.

Depositing and withdrawing at BetVictor is free for all methods. Their withdrawal speeds are among the best in the industry. E-wallet payouts are processed in 1-2 days, but in many cases are sent back to players in just a few hours. Withdrawals back to credit cards take 3-6 business days, which is quick considering how long these take to process by the credit card companies.

BetVictor Sportsbook Bonuses

BetVictor Free £25

BetVictor provides £25 free bet to all new accounts at the sportsbook. If you have previously received a bonus from BetVictor through another brand, (poker, casino, etc.), you will not be eligible for the free bet offer. All of that is required for the risk-free wager is that the selection is at evens or better. The bet must also be placed within the first 30 days of opening the account. The bonus comes with a modest 4x rollover that must be completed until a withdrawal can be requested.

However, customers who deposit using Skrill or Neteller from Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom will not be eligible. The workaround here is simple, just use another method, such as credit or debit card on your first deposit to get the bonus.

£1 Million Pound Goal Promotion

BetVictor 1 million pound goal - advertising

Currently there is a £1 million pound promo that will go to whoever is able to correctly predict the First Goal Scorer and the Minute that goal is scored, in the Final match at Euro 2016. There are other great promotions like this that happen daily. BetVictor’s promotions change regularly. Currently, they have an accumulator (parlay) bonus for select sports. They also have promotions similar to Paddy Power’s ‘Money Back Specials’ on certain events. These are typically British or Irish focused.

BetVictor Cash Out Promotion

BetVictor provides players with the ability ‘Cash Out’ a portion of their pre-match wagers on football and tennis, provided the sport is available for in-play betting. The list of available Cash Out markets listed on the right. Cash Out is available when customers place win single or win accumulator wager on a Cash out an eligible market. These are designated by a gold coin icon being listed next to the market.

The Cash Out promotion is unique to BetVictor. It allows customers to lock in a profit on certain bets and gain back some of your potential losses. However, punters can do a better job hedging their wagers by using another betting exchange or live betting market, provided they the extra bankroll. They will almost certainly find lower margins elsewhere.

BetVictor Review Highlights

Interface and Betting Markets

BetVictor’s software is excellent. It’s not particularly groundbreaking visually, but it’s clean layout that is fast. Markets, promotions, from in-play betting to support are well structured. We doubt many have complaints about their software.

BetVictor Betting Interface

BetVictor’s overall odds could be considered subpar if you take away their 3% margin football and tennis markets. Without those, they would not be worth nearly as much. Nevertheless, they often have the best odds leading up to game time, particularly when it comes to Asian handicaps. Rugby, cricket, and golf markets all have excellent margins. However, smaller markets (comparatively) like basketball, ice hockey, and North American sports, such as American football, are not so great.

In-play betting markets are quite large on football, tennis and a few other sports and extremely competitive. They don’t have live betting markets for every pre-match market, but it’s close, and there are a ton of betting options in what is an excellent live betting client.

Moderate Payouts

BetVictor has only average maximum payouts compared to some of the larger bookmakers in the UK and Europe. However, they are still quite high for sports like top flight football and tennis.

They have £500k limits on the main markets for English Premier League matches, internationals, Championship 1 & 2, Scottish Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and more. However, it drops to £100,000 for most second and third level clubs, such as Bundesliga 2, Ligue 2, and all Scottish Divisions.

Other sports vary widely. Many have limits much lower than £100,000, even when it comes to traditional markets. For betting big on football tennis and in-play betting they are ideal, but not for all markets.

BetVictor Sportsbook Excellent Support

Live Chat Available
The support staff at BetVictor is rated highly. They offer 24/7 support every day and have email, chat, and telephone options. Their extensive FAQs surrounding all of their promotions and betting markets are also extremely helpful.

Live chat responds almost instantly and is quick to solve customer issues according to players.

Elite for Football, Average for Everything Else – Summary

BetVictor should be on every punter’s list when it comes to football markets. At odds comparison sites, they often have the best price available. For everything else, they’re mostly average. Their long history in the industry, free bet offer, and quick withdrawals easily put them into the upper echelon of bookmakers worldwide. They’re on the elite level for football markets, for both pre-match and in-play odds.
